Hey man since you’re from sac area could you recommend a rig setup like how you did here for what hook and wait and how to setup for Mather lake? Haven’t been catching anything for a long time and I think I’m rigging wrong. You’re so boss if you help me out. Thanks!
I fish mainly the rivers, but if you’re targeting shad I would run a Carolina rig and adjust the weight/leader length to the flow of the current. With heavy rain this year I would go 1-1.5oz for shad. Depend on which section of the river you’re fishing. Tight lines.
Greens are almost exptirpated in the Fraser River in Canada, an otherwise fantastic sturgeon river. I understand Greens spawn in brackish or salt water??? that makes it tough to find out where they actually prefer to spawn so we can protest the esturaries or secret locations.
I know this is old, but I've been running 20lb braid on mine and this reel hasn't skipped a beat in 2 years now, besides my Curado DC the best rells I own, for the price point of 259$ , they are amazing reels... Using them both on St Croix Mojo's 7'1" MH/Fast... So much fun!
glides and a rig is all i throw nowadays, jerkbait fun but big mama's go after bigger thangs lolz but occasionally jerkbait good when they finicky, good catch
Do you fish for stripers during the rest of the summer or do you wait for the run to start up again? I’ve been catching ones just under keeper size on white and red super spooks lately. I’ve seen a couple that looked like 10lbs eat right in front of me but couldn’t get them to bite
