Addicted to fishing, that's me! Find some moments of my fishing adventures from the beach, hobie kayak, drone dropping and my little 4m stabicraft tinnie. I love to share my passion and always try to drop in a few hints and tips along with some of my cookups of the catch too.
Some of the big ones are dawn, dusk and high tide. Big tides with the new and full moon. Then comes into details, knowing what conditions work well for a particular spot. Tide swell, wind etc.
@@abdullawazir1729 I use willi weather. Depending on where you fish will determine how big a swell is doable. Wind can be the worst west wind blows in the weed. I always lure cast preferably with East wind for longer casting and you can get the lighter lures out. That means getting up early to fish the morning session.
Great fishing Peter. Disgusting litter, there is no excuse for this and its exactly the actions of the 1% that ruin it for the rest of us. No doubt the Shire of Gingin are looking for excuses to shut down the beach for recreational use!
What an awesome session Peter. Good onya for highlighting the litter problem and for picking it all up. I had a moan at the Recfish West publicity team at the Boat Show asking them if they tell people where fish are being caught, then also remind them to take home their litter. Keep the vids coming mate, great fishing and great fish.
Too many tailor. Terrible problem to have. More than likely you will see me m up there this weekend in the maverick not catching half as many fish as you do 😂
@peterfullartonfishing Yes mate that's me. Hopefully I'll get up there with enough light left to scout a good spot. Hopefully they will be on the chew with the swell picking up towards the weekend.
Great video! Pity people can’t respect the beach and take their rubbish home! Looking forward to my next trip there in few weeks, big enough swell this weekend, was hoping to go up but it’s over 2m up to 3.7m by Monday 🙈
Saturday and Sunday look ok east winds will compensate. Monday 😬. It's a real shame Eric.... 90% of the campers no issues. There looking at blocking off tracks etc at the moment for the few who do the wrong thing 😞
Driving a manual need the right gear to balance speed and momentum vs power to the wheels. To low a gear won't give the speed needed to carry enough momentum to get back to the top of the beach. Basically I used the hard sand at the waters edge between waves as a runup to get through the soft sand back to the top of the beach, which has harder sand and my established wheel ruts. If that makes sense at all 🤣
That's a tough one 3-4m swell and pretty flat tides. I have a few tours and thinking some of the gutters along the back beach. Haven't fished them much this season but potential for schoolies mulloway and green back tailor.
Hi Pete. great catches. cool to see the GT Ice cream landing that GT you caught. I just got a GT Ice cream, my first time. We'll see how it turns out. Whats your rig set up ?
I am using a 6000 Stradic with a 11ft Assassin Amia rod. It is overkill for tailor but it's also going to be my mulloway lure rod. Plus occasionally we get hit by a big mackerel or samsonfish on the lures. My tip would be to hold the rod tip high at the start of the retrieve with the GT ice cream. You want the nose of the lure out of the water so it slops side to side, it has a great natural action the fish cant resist. Some people try to work the lure but its best to just give it a straight steady retrieve.
High range while travelling, gives speed and momentum when needed rather than torque to spin the wheels and dig in. Once bogged I am always in low range to be kind on the clutch and to quietly flatten out a track to launch off in high range again.
Though my new ute gives you traction control without stability control in low range. In high range you have to turn traction control off before stability control 🤷 so I might use low range more often with the new ute.
@@peterfullartonfishing with your traction button on the new ute hold the traction button down for about 5 to 10seconds it will disable traction and stability it will operate like your old ute my 79 cruiser if if goes in low range the traction still turns on in boggy terrain but if he holds the traction button for a long period of time it turns everything off and it drives soooo much better in the sand
@@DillonHinsey it's the order it turns it off in high range is the issue traction first then the long push will turn off stability control. It's a safety thing thinking you might drive at high speed on a icy or snowy road. Agree best with everything off most the time on the beach.
Bit of luck, the insurance company taking note of your plate car and name. Always a good idea for future reference, 1 more thing put your seat belt on and mobile down while driving. Cheers
Hi David, I don't know why the manufactures go the 20" rims on vehicles that are designed to go off road! Those extra 5 psi make a whole world of difference.
Thanks for the input. Something I am passionate about is eating a variety of fish, there are so many people these days who only want the select few iconic species. It's why the key demersal are in so much trouble. I will bring up some more on eating other species in my vids.
@@jpw5029 They are all different, the big male brown wrasse are up there with my favourites, whereas the females can have horrible green flesh. King wrasse is a top table fish to, but can go mushy if not spiked and chilled on capture. When I was professional fishing we used to get top $ for live king wrasse sold for Cantonese cuisine. Not a big fan of the southern maori wrasse, very mushy but if you have to eat them it's just a texture thing.
It was very painful to watch, some people just want to do it like they do on the concrete ramp ! They were lucky to get away with it, could have ended badly for the 4wd.
It's the 4oz needle nose, about 110g. The rod is a Shimano Areowave 12ft. It's a big rod for casting lures can be hard work on a long session. It belts the heavy lure out a long way, so I switch to it on the reefs that I can't reach on my smaller outfits and go back to a smaller rod when it suits better.
I have found a way that works for me on the beach. Bring the boat to the shore, back the trailer up, hook up the winch and snug the boat up to the trailer and then use the car to reverse the boat out to just deep enough and winch in more. It keeps the boat lined up on the centre of the trailer and under control. Also the car goes only just far enough in to get the job done and is in the water for less time. With two people one holds the boat and the driver does the winch..
Bang on Lewis 👍 Exactly how it should be done. While you get the car you can also drop the skeg on the motor into the sand so the back doesn't swing around. You can even do it solo this way.
Thanks, was an enjoyable day. Slept in, threw a few lures and did a few drone drops and dropped two quality fish but that's how it goes some days. Just great to be out there.
