Awesome model! Did you fix the roof by hooking the two tiny springs to the windscreen, or you just placed it in position? Those two springs are flimsy, not easy to do. Don't know why they didn't put two strong magnets.
So Potato It isn't cheap but it was the misproduction (only 96pc). I only pay that amount for "specials" like this and signed ones. I understand your point but this one is a must have in any collection my opinion. 👌
Mervyn R im treating myself to a z4 coupe next year and it seems the 228hp and 265hp are close in performance terms. ..I thought the extra power would be a little more prevalent but im guessing the z3 is lighter...the official figures suggest the 3.0si coupe is a fair bit faster than the 228hp 3.0
I own a bmw z3 and was thinking of buying a z4 with the 3.0si but its seems like its gonna be a waste of money might as well go with the z3 3.0 m54 is exactly the same as my current m52 so i already know the ins and outs of this car
That is a very close match. I have the 3.0si as the QP version (E86) and believe me, you can tell when the speed limiter kicks in. It goes to it's 260 on the speedometer without any trouble. In the scene from 0:30 to 1:30 the Coupé would be gone, if it were leading and not be caught again. You can also see that leading car shifts at ~200,210 ish which should be good to go from 4th to 5th in the longer gearing of the roadster, so he was in the best (4th) gear at 140,150 when he stepped on it. I wonder how he got caught so badly in the high speeds (220+), even though he was slightly leading earlier (showing slight power and weight advantage). It can't only be a matter of coupe versus roadster, though, as they are pretty identical in CW .... what I expect is that the Z4 is a bit restricted in the top end due to driving dutch roads without any opportunity to regularly let the engine push a bit. Then again, we don't know if the same is true for the cam car... So for me right now it's either that, or him shifting into 6th at some point, or letting off. It will forever be a mystery, that goes to show that the Z3 is an awesome car :)
Seems like if both stays at top speed the Z3 is catching the Z4 slowly. So in my opinion Z3 with less HP its barely the same as the Z4 or better. Nice run both btw
I’ve had a z3 2.8 and a 3.0 and a Z4 3.0 and z4m and I can tell you that the Z4 is in every way better. The only reason the z3 is catching up is because it’s more aerodynamic. On a standstill the Z4 would be so ahead than the z3 wouldn’t see its rear lights.
@@Eidrian111 what a load of crap, to try make out the z4 3.0 is that drastically faster than the z3 3.0 is just lies. It would be incredibly close in a pull and would most likely come down to who is the better driver.
Its easy to see you're driving in Europe, other drivers move over when a faster car is approaching. A novel idea that should be taught to American drivers
@Biff Danielson Yes, such freaking moron drivers in the USA. That's why there are so many salvaged titled cars being driven here. Everyone is rear ending each other.
This is a rule. When not overtaking someone drive the right lane. Not middle. Most right lane possible. But seems trend is driving all the way left. Which leads to jam and a real(!) Fast driver cannot pass. Not meaning all the wannabees. Routines and fast drivers hanging at slow Speed then
Thanks, Mervyn, for the great video. How did you adjust the tie-down cables to the correct length and tension? Do the screw threads on the turnbuckles actually work, to permit adjustment (lengthening or shortening) of the cables to fit snugly over and around the wheel hubs of the car being 'transported'? Any advice on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Too bad that they "only" changed the color of the interior, added the muffler but forgot to also change the front. The real "blue" 300 SLR has orange indicators and is missing the spikes next to the star. Still thinking about getting one :)
