I feel like Astral Birth Void and It Lives! from The Binding of Isaac has a main concept in common that I can't stop thinking of while listening to this. Void feels like a... Beforelife version of Kirby, especially with the Astral Birth bit attached. The song hints at the inevitable future it'll have, one like Kirby's, but far more depressing. Kirby is fighting the origin of that bad timeline, releasing it from inevitable suffering. It Lives! is much of the same. A literal Beforelife of Isaac, a fetus inside its mother's womb. Except this time, the timeline IS the one of inevitable suffering, Isaac feeling he was a cursed birth, made to sin and destroy a loving household, to be born to hate and be hated. So the only way to stop it all... is to fight the origin of that bad timeline, releasing it from inevitable suffering. To kill himself before he's even born. It's such a sad, yet interesting concept...

Thank you for spotlighting fine fields!! Excellent taste :) Another odd bit of trivia which wasn't mentioned here is how the music that plays during the opening cutscene syncs up pretty much perfectly with that of Return to DreamLand, seriously, it is shockingly accurate! Main differences are that the section that plays while Taranza kidnaps Dedede is a little more energetic and 'dramatic' (?) than what plays when they meet up with Magolor, and that Return to DreamLand's intro is just slightly longer, but still, if you put Triple Deluxe's music over RTDL's intro it just looks and sounds right! I wonder if there were some behind the scenes production constraints that forced them to make them like this, maybe the intros couldn't be too long for budget reasons and that was the optimal way to pace both? I haven't checked if Planet Robobot's also syncs up but I wouldn't be surprised if it did, either way, this video is pretty great and sorry for the long comment! :P
I remember beating this game several times and listening to the “secret” music selection menu for hours until the batteries were close to dying… technically that would have been my first portable digital music device 😮
You ever have the realization in Kirby Clash Deluxe that he essentially summoned every modern antagonist BUT Sectonia? Wouldn't surprise me if Dark Taranza deliberately did that as Taranza wouldn't have a reason to follow him otherwise.
