Breastfeeding education by 127 Pediatrics is a channel that is run and managed by a pediatrician and breastfeeding medicine expert. The goal of the channel is to promote and protect breastfeeding by educating families around breastfeeding topics. Research has shown that woman who have breastfeeding education prenatally are more likely to breastfeed their babies and for longer durations. Thank you for allowing us to share this information with you.

For my wife the best she did to increase milk flow was to stop pumping and let the baby drink instead. The first kid she lasted 6 mo she went full term with my second one.
Your content is excellent! Happy to have a board certified physician add some info out on the web regarding breastfeed. Found you through your nipple confusion video and now watching many of your other ones. I'm internal med md myself so know nothing about pregnancy or kids 😅. Thank you!🙏
Hey! Great video. Can you please clarify hemorrhage causing a delay or inadequate milk supply? This comes up a lot (I work inpatient) and it seems like some say it may affect milk production and others don’t. My understanding is that severe hemorrhage and subsequent Sheehan’s syndrome would of course affect production but a typical hemorrhage wouldn’t. Hemorrhage is quite common and I’m not seeing really negative affect on milk production but that’s of course, only anecdotal. Thanks for your time!
My baby bf exclusively for 15 days. But due to low supply we gave bottle afterwards. And slowly he’s not latching at my breast at all when supply is good now . Have been pumping exclusively now . He’s 2 months today . Lc gave a shield to try
Love this video and your experience! Thank you for sharing. Question for you! My baby is just over 2 weeks old, he’s been consistently waking up every 3 hours to eat at night, so I have not needed to wake him. Last night he slept for 5 hours, is that bad?! How often should I wake him through the night to keep my supply up? How many hours are okay? He eats every 1-3 hours through the day. Thanks again!!

I have the same issue. Initially, we were waking our baby to feed at night (he has never woken us for night feedings). Now the pediatrician says we he can do a 5-6 hr stretch over night but I still wake up and pump in the middle to protect my milk supply. Not sure how long I need to keep doing that. Not sure why he doesn’t wake in his own to feed. It’s never seemed normal to me but everyone says be glad he sleeps and don’t question it.
If your pediatrician is happy with your baby's weight gain, that is great. There are a lot of factors that go into milk supply, but likely you don't need to pump at night anymore if you milk supply is good and your baby is gaining appropriately.
Hi doctor how to I teach my 4 month old baby to accept bottle feeding… I have to go to school very soon and I can’t seem to be getting her to suck her bottle
Thank you for your comment! Sometimes getting a breastfeeding baby to take a bottle is very difficult. I will do a video for you. Keep an eye out. Great job for nursing your baby. ❤️
Thank you for your comment. I will put together a video on that topic for you. If you want personalized info, I offer consults. You can fill out a contact form on my website to schedule a consult. 127pediatrics.com
I’m so glad I found your channel. Thank you for all of this information. I’m currently having a “laundry problem” with my infant. My first baby had more discomfort but less spit up and this baby has seemingly less discomfort but way more spit up. Just a reminder about how different each child is.
The inflammation seen in breast engorgement is physiological, due to the local stretching of ducts and milk in the ducts causing distention. Do we really need to take Nsaids given all the side effects and harms associated with them?
Thank you for your comment. NSAIDS are recommended for inflammation that is causing pain or potentially leading to mastitis. You don't need to take them if you don't want to do so.
