I had the same problem on my Prospector 16 Aramid Lite. I contacted Nova Craft and one of the guys there tried to sell me a repair kit for $19.99. I finally got over his head and was transferred to the President and he wanted to see the canoe. After they got the canoe the consensus was that they had to replace the canoe. They wouldn't really say why it happened but they replaced the canoe quite cheerfully and speedily.
