regular season is the time to try out new pairings and line combinations. this is not an ea sports game, it's real life. Line decision aren't just who's a grinder? who's a twf. TWF-SNP-PLY, omg now we can score 5 goals a game. The coaching staff is fine.
Agree to disagree. The team scrimmaged 5 on 5 from Day 1 of training camp. There’s no reason the first line in Game 1 of the regular season should have been a line that had never played together in training camp.
@@Lennychao19 Not saying you’re definitely wrong, but it’s still pretty uncommon for defensemen to play in the NHL at 19. Most defensemen have more development before they ever hit the NHL.
Good take. Was pretty diss appointed with the hawks performance and coaching blunders. But I had guenther and Ingram starting in fantasy so it was bitter sweet
@@nflauf Thanks for the feedback! I’ve been having trouble with copyright stuff from using too many actual clips, so I thought this would be a good way to limit those. But I’ll do my best to find another solution.
Spot on in your assessments. The 4th line was on the second pp unit in the preseason against the Wild and generated nothing. Mikheyev with his speed and defense looks good on paper with Bedard and Tuevo, but failed in the actual game. Mikheyev, however, did step up his game after he was demoted. Brodie makes Jason Megna look competent. Scratched my head at thst signing. Hope Brodie finds his game. But I'm not holding my breath. Bedard had 2 assists even though he was MIA in period 1. How many times did the dynasty Hawks come out flat and the guy who stepped up and led the way was Jonathan Toews. The Hawks need THAT from Bedard. There's a reason he's called a "Generational Talent". You don't see Crosby and McDavid MIA for an entire period. Bedard prediction: 40G, 58A, 98pts. Because why not? Bedard's #98

Loved the video. Yes, season sucks, but thats rebuilding. Games will get better, eventually.
The Hawks have had a bad tendency to draft young defensemen with offensive upside, but need lots of work on the defensive end. Then they get to the NHL, and their offense isn’t all that ready to contribute at the big time level. Was he a top 10 prospect? I guess we’ll see. But it’s remarkable how few 1st round picks are thrown into the NHL, game 1. Levshunov is supposed to be a much better prospect , but he probably won’t see the NHL until the end of the season at the earliest. With the injury, maybe not at all
You don’t mention it but I believe another bonus to being in the AHL is building chemistry with Levshunov who I assume would be his D-partner next season in the NHL
Even if they played him in the NHL, they should have sheltered his minutes way more than they did (kind of what the Ducks did with Leo Carlsson). I hated the way they just threw Korchinski to the wolves and let him lose all his confidence.
Great video! My favorite so far! I think Korch getting sent down makes sense, my only “concern” is if the AHL is really better for developing players of Korchinski’s caliber. Your video addresses that, and I just wonder what the development path of other players like Korchinski looked like.
I really appreciate the kind words and the support! Korchinski's a pretty unique prospect; his defense was bad even for the WHL. Because of how much his play fluctuates with confidence, I don't think there's any harm in having him play in the AHL until he fixes his defense and gains lower body strength, because the rest of his game will naturally pick up from there.
Great question! The most recent example was Alex Vlasic, who was one of the best defensive defensemen in the NHL last season thanks to excellent development in Rockford! Glad you enjoyed the video, and thanks for your support!
awesome video! great breakdown of Korchinski's plays throughout time and i totally agree with the decision to move him to the AHL, but it's nice to see it broken down so logically! 🔥
“Training camp takeaways” - proceeds to talk about Kyle Beach and Corey Perry for the first three minutes of the video. “Forever tarnish the dynasty”? Most serious people have moved on from this long ago. It’s not even a footnote let alone a tarnish. “Instead of losing the right to draft Connor Bedard…”? Are you serious? The NHL investigation concluded prior to the 2022 draft. The Blackhawks wouldn’t even win the 2023 draft lottery for another year +. And the sickest part is, none of these crybabies would have even brought up Kyle Beach’s name again if the Blackhawks were picking 2nd or 3rd in 2023. Are you that inadequate at creating content that you have to resort to publishing that trash again? 👎
He was de facto captain anyway, and why put extra pressure on the kid? Bedard isn't the type to be the take charge guy at this age. He's modest and self deprecating and would rather others get the credit. I'm sure he wouldnt feel right being captain when there are so many older veterans on the team.
I think it depends on expectations! I think they'll be a much more watchable team, but not sure how much that translates into wins this year. Contention is hopefully coming soon though!
@@RinksideGeneral Thank You for your comment & response. Yeah. I agree that they're not likely going to win The Stanley Cup, but, they'll do a lot better.
Thanks for the video , personally I thought you were way to hard on Commesso he played a overall excellent game even the greatest goalies in history will give up a occasional breakay goal I think he deserved B or at worst a B-
Thanks for the kind words, and I respect your opinion! I had my eyes on Commesso after he let in a couple weak goals in last year's playoffs against Grand Rapids, so I was a little harsher on him for letting in another weak goal in Tom Kurvers. You definitely have a point though!
