Thank you for this nice review ! I would like to use the Osprey Nebula for work but also with my kid. Is it possible to fit a basketball in the main compartiment ? Thanks
I got one of those watches the other day and I am very happy with it but the only thing is that it doesn’t have spotify for music on it. It would be really nice to have Spotify on these smart watches too with out the need of a phone
Hard to find a vid accurately detailing the caffeine content on these drink enhancers. Honestly feels like their super slept on in media despite how dirt cheap they are and how high their caffeine content is. At this point, it’s cheaper than coffee, and easier to make and take on the go
I ordered the same watch on Amazon and guess what is was missing. Someone took the watch out with accessories. I was waiting all day and met the Amazon guy and signed for the box. Opened it and I knew something was wrong because it felt light. Now it’s going to take 5-7 days to get my money back.
Does these 2L make any difference? Wanted 34, got 32 by mistake. I really want as much space as possible but 34 is not available now. Dimensions are almost the same. Is it possible that some of these 2L are in the mesh pocket on the outside?
There really isn’t too much of a difference when you look at the main compartment size. I don’t think it’s reflected in the dimensions as it’s probably just a little more fabric length that gives the extra depth. When packing both, I can’t really tell a difference. Either way they’re both solid choices!
Garmin Tactix 7 offers a modern design with a touchscreen, enhanced tactical features, an integrated flashlight, and updated health monitoring. Garmin Tactix Delta lacks the flashlight and touchscreen, featuring traditional button controls, classic tactical features, but still has comprehensive mapping and navigation tools. Both watches are built to military standards and share many tactical features, but the Tactix 7 introduces newer technologies and conveniences.
Totally agree. I’m sure it would drastically cut down on the battery life, but it would be a great added feature. That is probably the only thing I miss when comparing to the Apple Watch…. Maybe some other application integrations too, but some of the major things that make it stand apart from the Apple Watch or what keep me wearing it. Thanks for watching!
I grabbed a TicWatch and I love it. I'm going to send it back though because the new Galaxy is about to drop and it integrates so well with my Galaxy phone and it's amazing. And you're probably right about the battery life but they should make it an option that you can turn off completely@TheOutdoorWorkshop
The “top” handle placed on the back of the 32 will allow you to slide and secure your bag to the handle of your travel pull-behind bag. That’s enough to push me to the 32!
Ive seen loads of video reviews for this watch so I can check out the functions before I buy. This particular video has many qualities that reviewers with a far higher number of subscribers produce. Well done. Great video.
Thank you! I’m glad it provided you some information that could help your decision. Good luck and hope whatever you end up with meets your expectations!
been loking for the perfect hike/camera bag, found out this range this week. Really like the Recon, just afraid it wont fit a camera bag/cube, if it has a flat bottom for it..
Yeah the recon will likely be a little tight for camera gear, especially with a cube and hiking gear. The borealis has bit more space in the main compartment, though less organization… which could be mitigated with some cube organizers. God luck in the search!
Dammit i should have watched some of these reviews before buying the Fenix 7X Pro Sapphire Solar! I could've saved me a thousand dollars. But i love the beast i have now and suits me down to a T. And what an awesome review, mate. Thanks
Thanks! Yeah I also normally wear the 7x pro sapphire on my day to day and utilize a lot of the convenient features that come with the high price tag. I could probably get away with the features on this one as my day to day, but having the 7x would miss a lot of the upgrades. This one is still a solid go-to when I want something lighter to bang around on the trail.
I carried a Sawyer in the small and medium version for over 500 miles. I saw many people using the Katadyn Hiker Pro. Yea it weights another 8 ounces but I can pump filtered water into my backpack bladder bag and fill a Smart Bottle in less than 5 minutes from any water souce. The Sawyer needs much more water and it usually took me 20-25 minutes to open my pack and fill my water up. Time is miles is daylight is hiking.
In theory, it should work, after using it a few times I ended up going back to the ballistic Calculator app that I was using prior to purchasing this watch. It had a lot more features available and was easier to input custom data when working up loads.
I would not recommend this for navigation during a marathon. I think the Fenix or forerunner would have much more capable navigation features. The Fenix has fully loaded topo maps and turn by turn navigation, which is lacking in this model.
I defiantly wouldn’t recommend frequent use of these energy blends. I generally only keep as a back up if I don’t have my coffee on hand and need a quick boost in a pinch.
This video was great and helpful as I'm looking at purchasing the Instinct 2 solar. Question for anyone, do you find this is watch works well for doing 3-15 mile runs? My old Garmin watch used primarily for running tracked what I needed (mostly distance, time, intervals) and that's what I'm looking for as well in the Instinct 2. Thanks
Thanks! I would say if you’re looking for a solid basic watch that tracks a lot of your statistical data, This is a good one to go with. But if you’re looking for more advanced features and specific route tracking, this probably isn’t the ideal one. There are a lot of better options for running, but this is a great blend between ruggedness / battery life / basic sport tracking. if you’re just looking for distance time and intervals, this should definitely be good enough!
Absolutely agree, the battery life alone is huge when compared to other smart watches. And that’s just the beginning of what sets it apart. Add in the off-line maps, flashlight, and sleep / activity tracking - knowing what I know now I would find it hard to find a comparable watch. Thanks for checking out the video!
Totally agree I certainly wouldn’t be using this as a primary navigational instrument, but it sure would be a nice secondary or tertiary option to an ADF in the event of instrument failure.
Interesting... I am using a slightly older(?) version of the 34 which has a single fastener for the front mesh and a different back panel. Loving it still.
Awesome review. I recently purchased the Garmin fenix 7x pro sapphire solar, and it's a BEAST compared to the G Shock Mudmaster ggb100 I had. I work in the security industry and the Fenix is what I was looking for. I spend the time I have off hiking for a week here and there and can not express how technically advanced the Garmin fenix 7x pro sapphire solar is. Thanks again for the review
Thanks for the comment and watching! I’m on board with you, whether it’s a military application or out on the trail it’s packed with quite a few features that makes life a lot easier. Hope you continue to enjoy it as much as I do!
The features are amazing but I am just worried if it's okay for a woman on how big they are and the length of the strap? I have a 45mm apple watch but idk if it would be close to the garmin. Bestbuy does not have a display for it.
If you’re comfortable with the 45 mm I think you should be fine with the instinct II. If you can imagine the 45 mm Apple Watch being just slightly larger on the squared areas and then drawing a circle that should give you a general idea of the size. If you have a Dick’s Sporting Goods near you, you may be able to find an instinct on display as well. If you want to try to see it first before you purchase another safe bet is ordering on Amazon prime if you have that service since most of them seem to be free returns. As far as the strap goes, I don’t think you’ll have a problem with length, but it will be a little bit more bulky than the Apple Watch. I don’t think it’s too bad especially if you’re OK with more of the rugged look of the instinct good luck in your search! if you like the size, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with the features. Thanks for watching!
