Your message would be a tad bit more interesting if you didn't have an excessive amount of make up on. Knew just how prevalent Strong independent women have been throughout the history. As well as the fact that the string pullers have been shaping public opinion for centuries as well. Cleopatra almost ruined the early Roman Empire. Or in the same time period best research Emma Goldman. Who makes your heroine look tame.

@@mplsyrp2 What, precisely, does my makeup have to do with ANYTHING? I wear it for me. Not you or anyone else. Do you criticize men's looks? Very doubtful, as I've seen throughout women's experience in history. People like you are the very reason why I continue creating such content.

@mplsyrp2 One more thing - is that last phrase a question? If not, perhaps work on your grammar and punctuation before criticizing my face. You'll communicate better and more appealingly when you're focusing on inconsequential and superficial things.

If having some negative qualities doesn't automatically disqualify an obscure but interesting and/or capable woman ... would you consider covering Hanna Reitsch? Her negative aspects aren't trivial, but her positive achievements are pretty major.

@nottakennick I love learning about ALL women from history, so I'll add her to my list! The only caveat I put on things is that I might not get to them immediately (I have a LONG list!), and if they're a villain I don't try as hard to say their name correctly. 🙂 Thank you!

What a complex and interesting woman she was. Thank you for such a wonderful video. There is a documentary that she reluctantly agreed to make, where she is interviewed for several days by actor Maximilian Schell. Marlene was already a recluse in her Paris apartment and she refused to be filmed. It´s interesting, explosive and sad at times, she was in her final years and so ambivalent about having lost her "image" and her beloved friends and people. Again, sorry for the long comment, and thank you for such a great video.

Thank you SO MUCH for sharing her story with us. My grandparents were both from Appalachia, she from rural Kentucky and he from rural Ohio. They married about the same time. My grandparents talked about walking between everywhere and how walking in the woods on the wrong property could get you unalived. My mom who’s 93 told me stories of being 11 yo walking from her grandparents other home when a man with a rifle stepped in front of her, asked her where she was going, who her grandparents were, who her parents were and why she was walking on this particular path. She told me she didn’t know the man and was certain if she’d have given him a “wrong” answer she’d have had a different outcome. She suspected it had to do with a stillbc in her world everyone had one. 😂. One thing I miss about my grandparents was their language, like sigogglin (my personal favorite), a poke, airish etc. Thank you for giving me a piece of home although I grew up in Washington state. ❤❤❤

@henkbarnard1553 Possible. She was studying chemistry before they ever met. But I find repeatedly that women's contributions are credited to men because folx believe women aren't capable of evil things. They're wrong, but they believe it because we are the "weaker" sex. I think it's naive to excuse women's evil as impossible or only because of a man's influence. 🙂
