Man Larry is really out of his depth here. His ovation sounds tinny, his timing is off and he messes up the alternate picking. Of course, compared to Yamashita it is hard to impress but still. Check out the version from Antoine Boyer and Samuelito to see it done right (also with a better tempo). Gypsy jazz guitar and classical guitar really working together there
De hombres el mejor para mi es kazuhito yanashita y de mujeres li jie ahi muchos buenisimos pero ps para mi elloss son los mejores del planeta para clasica❤❤❤❤😮
Wish there was a high fidelity recording of this. Perhaps the nature of the location makes it incredibly difficult to record. However it is also this location that puts this at the top of the list for Handel's Passacaglia played on guitar. The incredibly high amount of natural echo and reverb from playing in that spot is key for the sustain of notes that can't physically be held on the guitar. Unless a guitarist "cheats" in a recording of this piece and uses an additional track to hold these notes it will be incredibly difficult to surpass this version recorded here. It's very noticeable and sounds incomplete without it.
i honestly believe that yamashita picked this tempo purposely to show off. I don't believe that Larry agreed with that and that was a backstab from yamashita on the stage. You can clearly see that Larry can't keep up with the tempo,he just cant synchronize his fingers. He is a guitar player with experience so he wouldn't play a piece this fast knowing that it is a risk...
