Missing you brother Steve. I wish my uncle could've heard Wrigley Field when the White Socks won the championship several yrs ago. Play one for Jesus from me Steve. Peace
47 more career interceptions than career touchdown passes? Wow! The guy won that Super Bowl game in ‘69 so all those interceptions are forgotten. Is he rockin’ an 80’s perm??
You know RU-vid intentionally messes up and alters content and algorithms when you can't comment, can't like, disapprove or get rid of ads and collecting of personal data. You know, crap. Like with false historical video and they delete the uncomfortable truth which subverts their political agendas. 😮
This video has undoubtedly been copied or restarted countless times. It's pure, unadulterared, verifiable Vietnam/Hollywood history. Either that or a huge CGI green screen with extras. Seriously, do you see the visible dose of joy, pride, loneliness, fear and depression fighting for freedom for others in far lands? Sad, but brave. Some don't respect these men, but that comes mostly from unpatriotic cowards hiding eith guilt and excuses. Me, I respect real men, strong enough to be there. I was too young, but I was looking forward to male maturity instead of wimps and other evil sins. All others don't matter. If you can't stand up like a man then you might as well dress like a woman. The start of corruption of the spirit and eventually, DEI and Wokeness. 😢😮
Thankyou for the video it is important to preserve these moments in history. The Cold War made the games even more important. Me and my high school classmates were cheering and giving the high five at school over Bruce Jenner performance. He was the greatest athlete.
I’m in my 50’s and was born and raised in Pittsburgh and of course a Steeler fan. I remember those Raiders and Steelers games! That was a true rivalry. Respect to that team.
The inter-league game between the ABA and NBA this gentleman is talking about occurred in the spring of 1972. It was Doc's rookie season and he was a Virginia Squire and he would have one more season with the Squires before he going to the New York Nets.
Listening to Jim McKay was like listening to someone read a beautiful piece of literature. He could make any sport - or any subject - sound fascinating. Is sorely missed.
Two days later, the miracle was made complete. My boys defeated Finland to win the gold medal. Coming from behind once again. As I watched them out there, celebrating on the ice, I realised that Patti had been right. It was a lot more than a hockey game. Not just for those who watched it, but for those who played it. I've often been asked in the years since Lake Placid, 'What was the best moment for me?'. Well, it was here. The sight of 20 young men of such different backgrounds now standing as one. Young men willing to sacrifice so much of themselves, all for an unknown. A few years later, the US began using professional athletes at the games. Dream teams. I always find that term ironic. Because now that we have dream teams, we seldom ever get to dream. But on 1 weekend, as America and the world watched, a group of remarkable young men gave the nation what it needed the most, a chance for 1 night, not only to dream, but a chance once again to believe.
