why is ptc so hesitant to provide a thingworx trial. this is where platforms with ignition shines, they let you to try their platform without contacting their sales team
This needs to be updated as too many steps are missing that aren't in the text of the setup document. Also, the Azure interface and terminology have changed.
Thank you for this short talk about aspects of a complex domain. I must say that my favorite part what the comment about how the final approach turned out to be very accurate - 4-5 times more accurate than randomness. 😀
(1) Resampling isn't necessary; there's no need to recreate the fake 2hz sampling rate. (2) Time to failure is sometimes useful if the asset has a single failure mode that follows a time based pattern (3) The result of an analytic investigation can sometimes be implemented in a simple way e.g. if resistance > X, change lightbulb (4) Most industrial assets wouldn't be using code to get data, they'd just configure a driver in Thingworx Industrial Connectivity (Kepware) (4) This is a very simple use case. Thingworx can do anomaly detection in much more complicated assets e.g. motors, gas turbines (5) A lot of expensive industrial assets have historical data that TW can use to train and test model performance (so you wouldn't have to induce a failure to see if the model works)
Streaming data has been a capability of Studio since it was released and the ease of integration with live IoT data is a key differentiator. Just check the documentation or any training or RU-vid video and you should find steps on how to do this (spoiler: it's Drag and Drop and takes a few seconds once the connection to the ThingWorx server is established).
