I had this happen to me, sorry this may be a long story: So, anyway I was dreading playing a match as the Nurse (Regular game mode) fyi I hate playing as killer, but I have so many challenges I haven't done yet, so anyway this survivor I believe it was Leon, after I hit Leon he starts pointing at me, so it made me stop, he then proceeds to pull out his guitar, I ABOUT DIED....I haven't touched dbd for almost 2 years so I didn't know about this. So pretty much for the rest of the game I stayed with this Leon it was hilarious to me, I ended up letting everyone escape, except Dwight and Leon decided they wanted to stay with me💀💀, I love random interactions like this❤
I liked the mode in the beginning, but after a week almost every killer pair was double teaming. Most times I got into a chase, the other killer was there to stop it. Obviously with two killers that would happen sometimes, but it was almost every match by the end of the first week. Also the 30 min+ queue times for killer was dreadful. I only had the patience to try 2v8 as killer twice. 😭
I personally open chests hoping for a flashlight coz I run the escapist every match and then I purposely look for a killer and loop them and flashlight stun them constantly. I try to make them annoyed so they tunnel me as long as possible coz then the match just becomes a 1v8. Had good success with this strat so far actually. It also allows me to practice for the main game, I actually looped both killers for a good 30 seconds earlier today just playing mind games, it was genuinely hilarious, especially when they start bumping into each other and stuff Lol.
Flashlight is also useful genuinely on Medic role to help get injured survivors attention for healing when they don't see you chasing them or hear you over their loud moaning. It's also a good method of communication like clicking at a Wraith in cloak or pointing towards an objective quicker and much more clearly than the "point" emote we have. We like to think of flashlights as only useful for saves, but they do actually have other benefits in the game too.
so far the games I played.. I really don't want 2v8 as is it.. reason why you hate the mode is exactly the reason.. 10/10 I see Huntress.. at the point don't even find Wraith as annoying to go against compared to Huntress.. Yesterday me and my friends switched to normal and we had SO much fun playing normal games it's like feeling the air after being drowned in water for a while
Even with some of the issues. I love this mode so much, I can’t wait to see what they do when BH brings it back. I wonder what killers they add and What is there team skill will be. I definitely wonder what if we get new classes as well :3 It’s wild, how popular 2v8 got to the point Wait queues times for the bass game was so slow. All because it was fresh and lots of people saying they were actually having fun again. Makes me so happy but concerned for queues times in the future. BH definitely need to figure something out before bring back 2v8
I’m a killer main and waiting to find the match is a nightmare. Hopefully they can fix that next time they bring it back. But I also did have a lot of fun playing survivor too 😖😊
worst experience ever. If you don't have a friend to play as killers, you have no chance to play as one. Been trying that since they added this mode and it's impossible. No killer challenge done.
It definitely needs more killers. Also the killer queue is stupid long. As far as gens; I've had games where the gens get completed way too quick, I also had games where barely any gens were completed.
My huddy and I use Wraith and Hillbilly, its genuinely a slaughter. It sounds more like the victims of a Viking raid rather thann2 killers, people die quick. Funniet part, Im the one playing Hillbilly and im actually enjoying it. In 1v4 i fucking hate Billy
After hooking you, then chase some else to randomly find you during chase, to break chase then chase you is tunnelling. 1 different hook between you being hooked is tunnelling. There is two other survivors to hook. I always hook all survivors at least once before hooking the original survivor again while playing killer. There is a unwritten rule book that the majority of players follow. No tunneling, no camping, no using perks that you find annoying to play against, eg deadhard, DS, head on etc. Gen rushing is a thing. BNP, stake out, hyperfocus, with the spiders perk, and the new Lara croft perk, with toolbox is 20 second gen.
Biggest problem with 2v8 = stupid and toxic people. Devs can't do anything about it. Minor problems = easy gen rush, op loops for survivors, need more killers.
I did the tomb and will not play the game in till it is gone I am not waiting 20-30 min for a match I am a killer main and the game is not worth paying right now
Surv main here :) I really like the 2V8 mode, it's super chaotic but that kind of makes it fun and different. But I totally agree with what you said about the variety of killers. I'm getting super sick of hearing huntress all game every game. It's also funny how the end game chat is either the most wholesome and supportive I've ever seen or it's super unhinged (got told to get a rope and h**g myself yesterday bc I looped Wraith and Huntress in a zone where all the gens where done so naturally the rest of the team had time to finish the others). Another problem is also that a lot of survivors tend to not do anything. And I'm not talking about the newbies, we all start somewhere, but the people that have 1k+ hours and just hide in lockers, edge of the map etc. I've had several matches where 8 survivors where still in the game, I got hooked for the first time but reached second stage right then and there because some people just walk in circles at edge map. I really really like this mode, it just has a lot of issues. Still hope we get something like this permanently in the future :)
as a new player, the ordinary 1v4 feels like a proper game mode, while the 2v8 feels like an arcade non refined mode that only has to offer one thing, goofy chaos, i see it being fun if youre burned out on the regular mode, but from a perspective of someone whose learning both normal and this mode, the 2v8 feels like it only offer one thing only, silliness
Oh absolutely it will get back to the drawing board and get better next time. The people playing the game are the same ones no matter the mode and I am sorry you had to deal with that.
The thing with Billy is that he's really hard to play, so a lot of the people that haven't played any of these killers before Opt for the easier options instead, He's one of the best supports to have IF you're with a friend that knows how to play him in VC :))
This mode is not fun for me at all bcs it is buggy as hell. Every game i have someone fall under map or get stuck in hook animation after begin taken off (no, it;s not cheaters, happened to me too once...we are stuck and can't do shit) or not spawning gates ect. They flopped
I feel like the mod was added on top of an already buggy version of the game so it transferred into it. I hope the next time they bring it they will not have these issues anymore!
my experience with the 2v8 gamemode is that i feel like they should of put something in to stop slugging. Its happened so much to me during this gamemode, i dont know why it wasnt made that survivors get auto caged when downed. Also had a lot of experience with survivors hiding a lot but i feel like the free to play weekend probs caused it cause a lot of new players were playing which i understand etc.
I feel this so much! I have one or two moments when killers I’ve played against tried to slug but honestly, as a killer playing i felt slugging was so unnecessary and time wasting.
I’ve played 1-3 hours of 2v8 every day and haven’t had many “bad” games with slugging etc. And when I get double-tapped by killers it’s just bad luck, so I don’t take it personally as a major flaw in the gameplay. I mainly hope respawning hooks comes into 1v4 to make camping and even proxy camping much less likely.
Double tapping is normal in 2v8, I personally didn’t experience it as much (I hope I didn’t say the opposite in the video, I forgot 😭) but yeah, slugging was flagged on social media A LOT
I have enjoyed 2v8 a lot but it has its drawbacks, si. I would like to see more killers. Also, stacking 4 escapists... Señorita... that's a nightmare.... Ma billy cant instadown... noooo hombre!!! I cant assimilate that... 2v8 billy served me as a training at least not gonna lie. Well thats all ole!!!
I’d imagine killers like Pig and Pinhead wouldn’t have their side objectives in 2v8. It would get too complicated. They’d just buff their abilities so you don’t need that built-in slowdown as much.
The biggest thing I hate about 2v8 mode is that it’s absolutely killed the 1v4 mode. I tried playing some games in 1v4 yesterday and they were a mess. The Killers were either bots or trolls, and the Survivors were mostly the most incompetent scrubs imaginable. This wouldn’t necessarily be a problem except a lot of Tome challenges require certain Perks, so you can’t complete them in 2v8. That’s why I hope this mode is temporary.
Silly Bear, although Medic might appear to be an altruistic class at first glance, it is actually extremely self-interested. You get healed faster and you spend less time healing others, meaning more time to do what you want to do. Also, seeing injured survivors gives you tons of information about killer, generator, and future cage positions. Basically, Medic is the best class. :P
If the entire team isnt running escapist and guide ONLY youre designing a losing team. double up on a gen w 1 guide and 1 escapist. Killer comes, you both sprint away. Scout and Medic are just a waste of time. Should be hardcore focusing generators... this mode is JUST genrush.
@@memeseeku3618 Scout is literally the most overpowered role on higher tier survivors because wallhacks on the killers scales with the skill of the survivor. You also share the information with your team that can help someone significantly more oblivious than you out of a situation they would have thrown themselves into otherwise. Urban evasion is a strong perk against Huntress and this comes built in on Scout. Medic is not a waste of time because any time spent healing someone is time not spent on a generator, so if you heal quicker you are getting back to the primary objective quicker, on TWO people at minimum (because sometimes randoms come and help double heal). Also, Guides only provide benefits to your teammates, and ONLY if they are consistent with Great skill checks. If you aren't running a full 8 SWF of people who only hit great skillchecks a majority of the time, you are encouraging a teammate to hit difficult skillchecks that they might miss, guide doesn't come with built in corrective action or stake out to make this easier/not as punishing. Not to mention doubling up on gens is literally less efficient than spreading out on gens because the more people on a gen = there's a literal built in mechanic that reduces the efficiency of the gen repair speed by 15%. If this mode is "JUST genrush" and you're encouraging constantly doubling up on gens, sorry, but you're the one wasting your time. If the killer comes they have pressure on two+ survivors instead of just one, which wastes time. Guides do not provide old prove thyself or even new prove to offset the efficiency deficit of multiple survivors on one generator. At least you're correct on Escapist being a strong class. That being said, all classes are useful in their own way and you're just wrong in your opinion that anything other than 4 escapist and 4 guide = set up for failure. You've looked at it from such a narrow lens and missed so much nuance that comes with DBD and especially in 2v8 where killers can work together and have significantly more pressure than they normally can pull off in solo.
I agree with everything but the map offerings. For certain killers or challenges you need specific maps. For example Billy is bad on indoor maps, therefore i'd want an outdoor map. Scratched mirror Myers on the other hand is strongest on Maps like lery's, so why should I not have the chance to get a map that I can use my build on without fearing to waste my addons because of the map being a disadvantage for my build. Also I want to do an achievement for a certain map, then I don't want to play what feels like an inifte ammount of games until I finally get that map. Outbreak Breakout would be the biggest nightmare to even get progress there, because so many would spam the anti-RPD offering because no one wants to go there as survivor (even though maps like Garden of Pain are way worse)
Lights Out also wasn't easy for killers, since there were no pools of blood or scratch marks, so killers had no tracking tool (except for GF and Myers, because of their stalk goind up, if they have survivors in their LOS while stalking). And if a survivor vaulted or threw a pallet and you had to break it, the survivor would be gone before you even finished the animation. If they had made it just like the New Moon offering, then it would have been clearly one of the most fun gamemodes, since it would really feel like a horror game again.
Killers still had an idea where things were, I’m not saying it was easy but they had a bit more going on for them. Over all it was the worst in my opinion.
I don't remember the lights out event but hated Chaos Shuffle because I had to use perks I rarely to ever use / perks I haven't heard of (even though I have every character P3'd)
You can press escape (or go to the game info panel) during a game and read what each perk does. It’s good to widen your knowledge and variety of perks!
there should really be a featured special mode at all times, i understand not wanting to split your community but having a separate mode from vanilla at all times would really help with burnout
