I’m also starting my basketball journey, I used to hate playing basketball because it was boring until one day i decided to play with my friends and I did a dunk, i blocked a lot of players and I really enjoyed playing and having fun in basketball. My weakness is 1v1s and shooting, so I’m gonna focus on one skill (dribbling) for now until i get good. Thanks for this video

If you want to shoot without pain then train your underarm flexors and shoulders. It helps for stability and consistency. Also try to get lower when you want to shot wide range shots. Really loving your videos and the hustle🧱
You have crazy potential man, great defensive instincts and honestly impressive basketball IQ for your first year, being an older guy will always give you that advantage haha. If I could give you advice is that youre too stiff when you dribble, you barely move your shoulders and wrists when you pound the ball, try to relax and flow with the ball, use your whole body to dribble not only your forearms and start slow then go faster. Watch Kyrie or Harden dribble they have full synergy with their body and the ball.
You were clamping up good shi. U did a good job at cutting to the middle just try and cut side to side sometimes especially if your teammates driving to paint from the opposite side cause if he sees you it’s an open lay. One final thing when your dribbling have your off arm up protecting the ball especially if you don’t go to the non dominant hand side as much because if they reach it should be a foul or a blow by layup
For catch and shoot shots I would recommend to bend your knees before you even get the ball. You would be prepared for the shot and it’s a lot quicker and smoother
And maybe tilt your right foot a little bit left towards to basket so you have more balance. So that you have more balance off the dribble to do other things to create opportunities for you and your team
If your struggling with power than you can bend your legs more but I think you’re fine with the free throws. It’s hard to tell but you might be bending too much at your hips and not in your knees. W video
Gonna be a dope series, you should try to model your game and mainly your jumper off of players you think youd have similar playing styles with. Demar got some crazy footwork so start from the ground up. I find watching highlights and even training vids def helps with inspiration sometimes too. Good luck J✊🏽
