I watched the program and was of course touched by the sadness of the parents through the loss of their baby as well as their amazing drive to do more for other such children, they are wonderful people. I am amazed that with a brand new RCH that there isn't all the equipment & staff needed to do all they can to help all babies survive, especially when the RCH Foundation raises $16million from the Good Friday appeal and has tens of millions of public funding in investments. I understand the RCH Foundation need some funds invested for future projects, but over $40million in public funds invested and a total of $100million in assets is obscene. Why don't we use the Good Friday Appeal money to set the RCH up properly, so families of young patients (after they have already lost a child) don't also have to spend their time fundraising, when funds are already there.
It was a great honour to be part of this film. Our family will forever be endebted to the Royal Children's Hospital for saving our daughter Chloe's life. The only reason she survived was because of the research, technology, training and expertise that exists at this amazing hospital. We were lucky that there was a good outcome, and my wish is that all parents could be so lucky. Thankyou to the RCH Melbourne and to everyone who donates, helps fundraise or supports them in other ways.
