Just another Puerto Rican attempt at claiming ownership of breakdancing in the 80s knowing damn well Trixie and SaSa was the first A1 B boys in the early 70s
Many of these moves were previously featured on television in the 50s, and in movies going back to the 1920s (that I've found so far). There are great examples from the 1930s that show many of the moves demonstrated in this clip.
Great video. Obviously not the 1st. These kids were trying hard, that's for sure. But even for 1984 this isn't strong dancing. But, it certainly is a time capsule. Btw, times sucked socially in the 80's. It wasn't all dancing and fun. It was Reagan racism and the flow of drugs into the inner cites. It helped lead up to the later LA riots. Today it's much better. Peace.
I'm from the SF Bay Area, and my family loved his Green Grocer spots. We thought it was hilarious when relatives from other states thought he was local to their areas! My condolences for the recent loss of Pete Carcione, yet another produce grocer.
So-called "Al Alberts" wasn't even his real name. He was born Al Albertini. Anyone that sells out their heritage by changing their birth name, is deceitful & disrespectful to their parents.

Remember the 1980s when it was all pinafores and ruffles on toddlers! So cute. I remember this show. It was super cheesy...but such was local Saturday morning TV!
I don't think this is the first, cause the song is from 1984 and the level they dance it's so weak. There a another film before called THE BIG BREAKDANCE CONTEST with Paco as a Host. Greetings from ELECTRIC BREAKERS Bogotá 1984
