bro we use enterprise IaaS which now is migrating to dedicated accounts ... also my website is hosted on IIS and db is MySQL ... in this scenario will this migration work ? i mean creating image will move all data , certificates and all settings to new account ?
I follow all the steps and launch a new instance in the ami but a new instance was created without any content in the instance. Means my projects, directories everything has not got copied. Any solution?
Please create a custom Amazon Machine Image (AMI) from the live instance(With project files and directory) you want to share or migrate AMI Snapshot: Ensure that the AMI you used to launch the instance was created from a snapshot of the EBS volume where your projects and data are stored. If the snapshot was not created correctly, it might not have captured the necessary data. Data Migration: If your projects are stored in an external data store, such as an Amazon S3 bucket, ensure that the data migration process is working as expected.
my site was good until today when I issued ssl, cyberpanel shows that the ssl issued succesfully however when I tried to acces my site the browswer show NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID and the certificate is activate until 2032 any solution ?
I faced this error, Failed to modify the image attribute Snapshots encrypted with the AWS Managed CMK can't be shared. Specify another snapshot, when I tried to share the AMI with the account ID
Create an Unencrypted Copy of the AMI (Recommended): The easiest way to resolve this issue is to create an unencrypted copy of the AMI. Follow these steps: a. Go to the AWS Management Console. b. Navigate to the EC2 Dashboard. c. Select the AMI you want to share. d. Click "Actions" and choose "Copy AMI." e. During the copy process, choose a different encryption key, or select "Don't encrypt." Once the copy is complete, you should be able to share the unencrypted AMI with the desired AWS account. If you face same issue still, Please share steps and screenshot
14:50 On this step when I refresh my site I've got an error: This site can’t be reached {my-site-name} took too long to respond. Can it be because of aws payment policy? After I connected my domain to the instance AWS sends me email that my accound will be charged for $5.60 but I blocked my card because I was sure that these operations are free.
Log in to target account’s AWS console Go to EC2 Instance dashboard Click Launch Instance Under My AMIs sections on the left click “Shared with me”, you will see your recently created AMI there Select AMI and continue launching your EC2 Instance
it's working thanks for sharing valuable information. Is it possible to delete an old instance aws account permanently without any issue from share AMI and setup new instance account.
Stop the Instance: Before moving an EBS volume, it's recommended to stop the associated instance to ensure data consistency. Create a Snapshot: Take a snapshot of the EBS volume to create a backup of its data. This step is optional but highly recommended for data protection. Go to the AWS Management Console. Open the Amazon EC2 service. Navigate to the "Volumes" section. Select the EBS volume you want to move. Choose "Actions" and then "Create Snapshot". Provide a meaningful description for the snapshot and confirm the creation. Create a New EBS Volume: Create a new EBS volume in the desired availability zone or region. In the EC2 console, go to "Snapshots" in the left navigation menu. Select the snapshot you created in the previous step. Choose "Actions" and then "Create Volume". Specify the desired volume type, size, and availability zone/region for the new volume. Detach the Old Volume: Detach the original EBS volume from the instance. In the EC2 console, go to "Volumes". Select the original EBS volume. Choose "Actions" and then "Detach Volume". Confirm the detachment. Attach the New Volume: Attach the newly created EBS volume to the instance. In the EC2 console, go to "Volumes". Select the new EBS volume. Choose "Actions" and then "Attach Volume". Select the appropriate instance from the list and specify the desired device name (e.g., /dev/sdf). Start the Instance: Start the instance to access the new EBS volume. In the EC2 console, go to "Instances". Select the stopped instance. Choose "Actions" and then "Start". Once the instance is running again, it should be using the new EBS volume. You can verify this by connecting to the instance and checking the file system or any specific data stored on the volume.
