If you have cool X-ray techs they will try and change STAT to Routine giving the MRI tech more time to come in. Drs abuse the STAT button too much 🙄

MRI Tech here. Just because you do not get a break doesn't mean all MRI techs don't get a break. Every site in my city has a lunch/dinner break of 45 minutes, depending on what shift you work morning or evening.

How to become X-ray or MRI tech?

Do you administer the IV yourself, or does a nurse do it for you? Looking at becoming MRI tech, but I hate the idea of needling people.

I still dont understand how radiology techs are allowed to place ivs. Usually it has to be a nurse but where I work and almost everyone else its not. While I, the tech aid with experience accessing veins and in dialysis as well, am not allowed to.

ACR requires at least one MR level two personnel and a second MR level two or level one personnel. Tell your manager they are in breach of ACR requirements and that you should have another person working with you.
