This makes no sense. "Roll, Alabama, Roll" is supposed to be a Southern tune about the Confederate warship Alabama and her demise. There are plenty of examples of it on RU-vid. So was there originally a Brit ship with the same name that met a similar fate, and that tune "adapted" by the South to fit the story of their ship later on?
