You know you're getting old when you see something built, demolished and built again. I remember this place being a great shopping centre. I've seen 3 different markets in warrington.
Alot of the main floor was left there as there is a vast basement area. As the site is a large cutting into a hill. what is full floor at the top becomes a first/second floor at the battom of the hill. The structure up top of market gate is thwere as the plan was to use some of it as the base for the new market hall. The market hall that is still standing will be demolished once the new market is built. (If that ever happens) There is some clean up going on around the site currently to prep some spots for the next phase.
Why do the powers that should not be keep knocking down our old buildings instead of doing them up ,these old buildings are of better quality than the shit they build today , square blocks not architecture ,love your vids mate 👍✅
Aparently its "progress". Yet it feels like its going backwords. the cost of amending and adapting the older structures is also a factor in some models. Some say its cheaper to knock down and build new. Since some older structures require alot more work to adapt to a new usage. Eventualy there wont be any decent old buildings left in the center. Cheers for your interaction.
Alot of the new apartment developments do feel like they are geared towards those folk who work in central Manchester and don't have any natural connections to Wigan. And are only being done to pull in the commuter money.
Wardles try wouldn't have stood any other time. No idea why it was called. Penrith scored from a miscommunication in the Wigan defence and a crash over that was 50/50 for being held up. Other than that the nearly 70% possession wasn't used to its fullest. The two main break aways got shut down by Field on defensive scramble. The final seconds possible try was held up on fields arm. With out the speed of Jai penrith would have run the show. French was offside by a bugs doodah. On the kick. Any other time that would have been given. But due to the mess from the Wardle try it got called for offside to make up for the error. The ref was born in St Helens and lives in Wigan.
Australian ref boss, Graham Annesley said it was disgraceful refereeing decisions. English football VAR is no different. This is what happens when the poms can't seem to win anything! Don't know why Aussie teams bother going over there. Waste of time.
Yeah bro. I've been Wigan fan since the days of James leuluai n Fred Ah koi, Dean Bell, Ellery Hanly, Andy Gregory and the list goes on. I'm glad Penrith were humble in defeat. Awesome fan support from the stands as always.
@@Foxstar1387 my dad was a huge Wigan fan me not so much I like Huddersfield giants bit I do injoy watching top rugby league I'm from Australia so I do get to watch good hard hitting game's every weekend but I also love super league it's fast hard hits and very entertaining to watch
I told wigan council re the begi company. They did the same in bolton split with the partner company. Re the redevelopment of the crompton place shopping centre. This stinks. It got to be the Chinese company who moved 1st. Keep everyone informed. Thanks.
I think its to stop stuff falling to the road and so they can pull or push the rubble into the site. Sort of keeping it more contained like it was for the entry portals. Some could be by hand other parts via the mechanical ways
With how much of the site could have been modified and repurposed it dose seem a vast waste. Yes parts of Market gate where needing some fixups like the moisture getting in via the roof and maybe remove afew units to make more event-public areas. But the whole site being obliterated is abit much now. It will be interesting to see what happens to the current cinema building too. Will it get pulled apart inside to make a lazer tag arena and such or will it sit to rot.
the tarmacked area is a ,wait for it. events space WOW just what the market traders don't want. they really need a carparking area . no one going to be left in the mkt hall soon.
There's been conflicting rumours that the tower will either be pulled down when the market is taken down or the tower will stand and be used in one of the new buildings in some form. Hard to see it staying when it's built into the market like it is.
Im hoping its built since its gonna leave a huge scar and pit if its left as a half pulled shell. Rumours of them pulling out have been going around since may so who knows whats true and whats not. If the council would come out and talk about whats going on so that we all know if its going on or not.
Not sure on the timelines. But at some point. The new market hall should start to be built. Once that happens and the traiders are housed in the new hall. Thst should open up the slots for the test of the project to kick into gear. With the new cinema building and the bars - restaurants following suit. The hotel and apartments are I think. Due to be commenced once the current market hall is down.
Not sure. Not really seen much of the high reach stuff for a while. Now that its at the point its at and space will be becoming a premium round there. They could be only keeping the essential equipment around and only bring in whats needed phase by phase. Rather than hold it all in the one zone.
For a movie based on a game about haunted robots it's pretty good. Much like the first game it's pretty generic in its form. It's an introduction and world - lore builder. Since Mathew Lillard is signed on for three movies. We know the fun will continue on. After thinking on it there are areas that could have been different. But for what it is its a pretty good movie.
