I like it when people find the watches that make them happy, rather than insecurely going after hype watches in the hope that they will become socially accepted when they wear them.
I love how the beginning of your video you are thanking everyone for 100 subs and how it’s such a big deal to you… I just found this video because I’m in the market for a g shock and checked your channel and you’re now at over 10k subscribers. That is awesome man.
I don't know the price of manufacturing, but the difference between plastic and metal is significant. Plastic is soft so a mould can be used for easy, fast production on the other hand steel involves more, machining. I assume cut, milling and drilling, which takes more time. Beside plastic, aluminum or aluminium/zamac can also be used for moulds I assume that's what they use for the apple cases, it's faster simpler and cheaper than machining.
That's true. Overall I'm happy with it. I'd rather be critical of the price because there are other basic-level features this watch is missing, but I still like it.
DK, you definitely have a type when it comes to this brand. All 3 are no nonsense monochromatic styles. Black dials & Steel…straight to the point…clean…
This is an awesome piece. Wear what you want, not what others tell you to wear. This Chronograph also marked a significant change in direction for Tudor. Their prior chronographs included the home plate and the Monaco. These are both nice rugged Heritage series watches, but like many other chronograph manufacturers, Tudor utilized a modified ETA 2892 with the 42 hour power reserve. A great rugged watch with a tried and tested movement. However, the steel black bay chronograph was the first to house the new in-house Kenissi movement with COSC and 70+ hours power reserve. It has a column wheel with a vertical clutch. Find that anywhere else for under $5K! And yes, built like a tank. Tudor has become what Rolex used to be; a rugged professional tool watch. Don’t buy a watch as an investment; buy it because you love wearing it. Nice review!
@@degenerateWA I could be wrong, but I am not sure if it’s a Breitling movement. I believe that Tudor bought Kenissi and Breitling purchased a minority interest in Kenissi as well. They have made several joint watch platforms that share the Kenissi movements.
Many models of this one on ebay refurbished for 200$.. I got the green and it looks like new.. 8204 on my ny0040 runs between 5-9 secs a day not too shabby
I have the brushed kit for my A168, and I absolutely love it. I was waiting for the brushed for this one, but I guess they got rid of it. I’ll just have to get the polished one. Thanks!
Great video, great...yes, it's impossible to turn some cheapo into a luxury item, but it's possible to have something really rare at the wrist. I'm the 70's kid, I don't remember those metal Casios, I remember cheapos only, eventually some chrome plated plastic. It seems to me like a quality of that kit is great, no doubt. I like it, a lot.
@@degenerateWA I know bud, I know...but at the place where I grew up it was a lot easier to win the lottery, or to bite the bullet, than to see metal Casio, that was the unknown territory, a character from the fairytale....but yes, the old style is really great. I remember only one metal Casio from the 80's, only because my cousin was the owner, that was a metal Marlin, that thing was beautiful, a perfection, to be honest it's still a perfection to me today, I absolutely love it.
Beautiful watch , looks great on your wrist, but those 2 bracelets at the end of the video are horrendous lol . Put the watch on a nice tropic rubber strap or a waffle strap , a Seiko diver looks best on a rubber strap ! Also how the avg accuracy over a period of time ?
Absolutely 100% worth it. Especially the polished version. I still have my first Casio, first watch I bought when I was 16 in '86. That polished version looks like the logical step up, after nearly forty years. 😂
Ive been enjoying seeing your metal digitals. I think this could be the one for me. Whats the polarised display you mention? Many thanks for the upload. Cheers 🍻
