God bless this song it has gotta be the best song ever!! no less than second!! like i said when listening to Earl Scruggs foggy mountain breakdown as a black male from Alabama who lived in Baltimore city this music hits my soul like a hammer. takes to a place i never want to leave.
I saw one of the Standley Brothers perform before God called him Home. Even at his advanced years and with severe arthritis in his picking hand he still could slam out a great sound. The royalties he made from this song by Union Station earned him more $ that the two brothers made in their entire music career.
Imagine having to sit through this...... Only been once to a concert where ppl were supposed to sit, it was horrible. My god i'm sure everybody just wanted to stand and run to the front hearing this perfection
How these people can sit still to this is beyond me. I might be 43 and a lifelong metalhead, but I'd literally be running up front and start dancing my ass off to this!
I remember the beginning with the globe and the points of the compass. I love this overture regardless but the nostalgia of Sg. Preston of the Yukon makes it just a bit sweeter.
You don’t need to be black, white, pink, orange or yellow to enjoy and appreciate this song. It’s just a great song means a lot to everybody who listens to it.
