The story with Bilis Manger (The Sublime Porte) was the best of the whole boxset. Sad to hear the actor is dead. "In the grander scheme of things, you're just a fly buzzing against a glass wall."
Shame they didn't get Jon Culshaw to play the Third Doctor as well as the Brigadier, he does a far better impression of Pertwee than Tim Treloar. Still, it might have proved problematic editing-wise, so it is what it is.
Why do we need a "Last Adventure" type story for the Seventh Doctor? As anticlimatic as it was, we already saw it in the 1996 movie, complete with regeneration scene. It's not like the Sixth's where there was a huge missing gap.
For fun and to give the Seventh Doctor a last hurrah and big adventure/finale that the 1996 movie did not. Something similar to War Games, The End of Time and Time of the Doctor. Even though the 1996 movie did hold a fitting ending for the Seventh Doctor. I imagine Big Finish will do the same with the Eighth Doctor despite Night of the Doctor.
To address what led up to the Seventh Doctor walking right into a shoot out in the movie. If the Tardis always takes him where he needs to go, did he then need to go to meet his demise at the shoot out? or had someone tampered with the Tardis and sent him to his death?
so glad theyre doing more novel adaptations, would love if they did one for killing ground or time of your life. also would love if they did adaptations of some of the bbc books (particularly the edas)
Welp considering who's travelling with The Doctor at this point: Rose: OI, YA GET SLAPPED IF YA LOOKING HO! River: What if I'm looking at him but catch you out of the corner of my eye and I like what I see? Rose: Well, now I'm just confused sexually, I've never been with another woman before, Is this how Mickey feels when he's around Jack?
Chris and Alex....oooo....that would have been great romance instead of Billie or Matt... Maybe unpopular opinion... definitely need to listen to more of the Dr W audio dramas. They be good.
I agree. Matt's doctor was a horrible fit for River and having him fall in love with a teenager doesn't sit right with me. I made the mistake of watching Season 1 of Nu Who and Season 1 of Classic in tandem, and I couldn't stop thinking how Susan and Rose would have gone to school together if they'd have landed in her time lol. That killed any chemistry he could have had with Rose in my brain.
Why the hell has Tom Baker's countenance been pushed all the way to the back of this cover? At the very least a Doctor as iconic as Tom's deserves to be front-and-center alongside Vastra!
