I have a 2005 f 150 with 465000 miles, engine runs great but i am having some electrical problems with the truck s o i am thinking about replacing it soon.
5.4L 422K miles. Original Engine & Trans. My best advice- $$$$ buy the best Coils you can find & change over to synthetic oil ASAP. What a difference. Still purring like a kitten.
That truck isn't running no 9s. Just to put this into perspective here but that Tesla is a RWD standard range that runs high 13s and is maybe 2 and half lengths behind... It isn't a LR or Performance as you can tell by looking at its calipers and rotor dimensions.
It is hard to get to the broken cables.I punched out the 3 mounting rivets to the central mechanism. Then used a 1/4 inch drill bit to drill out the rest of the aluminum rivet. Then I used 6 mm × 20 mm long bolts, nuts, washers instead of the old rivets.I could move the mechanism around to get to all the cables, before installing the bolts.
I had one with 360k miles. I just bought an 03 with 80k 4x4 xl. It runs like a dream 17 mpg on highway. I am almost 60 years old. i think it will last the rest of my life..a better truck has not been built since, bar none..
My 02 F-150 SuperCrew 4.6 V-8 has 453,000 on it, all original engine, transmission has been rebuilt 3 times, basically about 100-120,000 miles between transmission rebuilds. I use it pulling hay 90 miles between our farms and pulling a 16 foot cattle trailer hauling calves to the auction barn 110 miles away and it's had a long, hard life. I bought it used in 04 with 29,000 miles on it. Biggest problem I've had with it is its on its third set of catalytic converters, previous two sets stopped up and I think these are getting there, but given the hard work it does I guess that's not surprising. It's made a lot of 1200 mile road trips between Texas and Indiana as well over the years. Oh, and yeah be sure to change the front lower ball joints, I've had them break on both sides at different times and the wheel basically falls off LOL:) Later! OL J R :)
@@lukestrawwalker Maybe a larger/higher GVWR cooler then? If the trans are requiring rebuilds at the 100-120K intervals it’s got to be either a temperature management issue or whoever is rebuilding isn’t using the OE style high carbon clutches or something like that. 4R70Ws are normally pretty long lived with regular maintenance if temps are kept in check. Are you locking out O/D when towing heavy? Have you considered J-modding the valve body?
Fake no way look into facts tesla faster production car. TESLA SMOKE THE LIGHTNING I put thousand dollars anytime you want to race. No fix or repair daily
Yep still on the road running strong. Doesn't get driven much, I think it's around 570-580k miles now. Just did a junkyard run the other day to get parts for my project 01' Supercrew. I'll post another update video soon.
