I didn't have to get surgery although at the time orthopedist did suggest that as one of the treatments. The problem just went away in a year or two on its own.
I cured my subluxation using conservative treatment. My orthopaedic surgeon told me I needed surgery but the literature does say immobalization will fix this issue unless you have the rare Type B subsheath tear. I insisted to be put in a long arm, munster cast (this enables elbow movement while restricting pronation and supination of the wrist). Your wrist position in the cast must be in full pronation, radial deviation and slight extension (it is very important to be in this position or else it won't work). Do this for atleast 6 weeks. My cast came off and my ecu tendon no long subluxated. My surgeon looked annoyed that I proved her wrong haha Your surgeon wants to do surgery. This is how they get paid the big bucks. Insist on doing the cast for atleast 6-8 weeks.
@@skip1978 Hi how did it go? im 2 days in, no pain now and there was never swelling but i do feel something start to pop when i start to twist my hand. Wearing a tight bandage have been avoiding movement. Not sure what steps to take if the popping doesnt stop
Sorry to bother you but I've been having this after a serious motorcycle accident it's doubtful that you will reply considering how old this is. However I'm very hands on at work how does it affect your lifting I'm normally on 25kg + and can only lift 10 at the moment.
Hey Sam, how is your wrist doing now? I have this but it’s asymptomatic and thinking about just leaving it because surgery I’ve been reading is for people that when the tendon snaps it cause a lot of pain.

No, I didn't. A surgeon said that a surgery might limit the range of motion of the wrist and seeing that it wasn't something that greatly bothered my daily life, didn't recommend it. Gym exercise did, and still does to some degree aggravate my wrist and can cause aching, but I will say that the situation has improved since this video. I've been doing light wrist exercise with a 1-2kg dumbbell recommended by a PT which might have helped. Good luck.
Smoothjaswi no i never had this fixed, will be getting medical insurance in a few months then i will see if its right for me. but i do have some questions if u don't mind me asking...
Thanks, how long was your healing process? How long did u have a cast on for, my left wrist has it, the hand i write with so its been hard. Was the surgery helpful. My wrist are extremely tiny so im nervous about if surgery is best
