@@Tkwasim nah they don't, they follow one of the four horseman (Sheikh Uthaymeen, Sheikh Bin Baz, Albani and Fawzan) who are from the last few decades. I went through the same phase, so don'ttey and pretend otherwise. Pure sunnis are followers of the Aimah Arbah. Salafis are a fringe sect that popped up maybe a century or two ago. Of the Aimah Arba only two (Imam Abu Hanifa and Imam Malik) of them are from the salaf. The rest of the Imams whom you take your hadith from to claim to follow the sunnah aren't of the salaf. They aren't sahaba, tabioon or taba tabioon (may Allah ta'ala be pleased with them). And those Imams narrate mostly khabr ahad which at best fives Dhani knowledge. The discussion between the two schools of Aqeedah is important. It's important to unite on what brings you together and only correct your brother if he displays outward deviancy. This is how Ahmed Ibn Hanbal after being released from prison approached the Mu'tazila. He said I don't wish to argue with my brother anymore as I know what he believes and I know how our argument will end. It will only push us further, and I'd rather get closer by worshipping Allah. In reality, the average Mu'tazila wasn't going around and spreading their faulty aqeedah, rather they were doing the actions Allah had commanded upon them. So we should have the same approach. We accept the way of the believers is one path and we do our best to call our brothers to it if we find them at fault. Otherwise, we assume the best of them and not aqeedah check one another (unless you are in a place known for deviancy).
