I'm going to say it. Lowdown is the greatest single of the rock/R&B era. From Jeff Porcaro's ghost notes. His fills David Hungate's thumping bass. The clever songwriting of David Paich and Boz. The immaculate production, engineering. Louis Shelton's guitar solo. Boz soul vocals. The backup singers. Everything is locked in place. Paich's keyboards. What a jam.
I don’t think people realize how much 90s R&B meant to the white community. Jodeci and Keith Sweat alone got this white boy more action than I would have ever gotten on my own. Thanks for making me the Mack back in the day!
This version is the best version! Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are geniuses. The R Kelly version takes the sultry, sensuality, softness, sexiness, and seduction out of the song with the mid tempo beat.
Liked and subscribed for the Strawberry 23 intro alone dude. Looking forward to checking out your reaction journey. Love when people get joy from something I like too. ✌️
Oh my God I’ve loved this FOREVER! Been on my playlist for a very long time! In fact this was the first song I downloaded way back when we were allowed to do that on the internet! Burned cd’s like crazy back in the 90’s!✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
This is possibly my favourite Freddie Jackson track. But it's such a hard thing to choose a favourite Freddie song. 🤔 Edit. I just remembered my proper Freddie favourite. It's "you are my love". XX
ACDC hadnt played in South America in years prior to this concert. When they dropped an album before this tour, Argentina had the biggest sale, they felt obliged to reward the Argentinians with a concert. What transpired is THE GREATEST Live crowd to have ever been captured on film & of course ONLY ACDC could inspire an Argentinian sea of 200,000 rabid ACDC fans moving their bodies in perfect unison. Absolutely Incredible.
