Hi Shannon! New Subscriber here! I really enjoyed your Vlog. I would like a few more details such as the best way to plan a trip here especially to keep prices low for guests ? I turn 50 next year and would like to get a few friends together to celebrate. Any tips you can share is greatly appreciated. Thanks! 😊
Thanks for the subscribe. I can’t really think of anything else not shared in video. We didn’t really do anything outside of the resort (outside of the mall trip unfortunately) so there were no extra expenses. It was just our flight/resort. I’ve heard flight prices are cheaper when you purchase on Tuesdays although I’m not sure how true that is.
Great video! Considering this for my next vacation spot, but I'm a little worried about the noise coming from the next door construction. How bad would you say it was?
@@shannon_not_so_bland oh that’s even more amazing because you know your stuff! If you ever want to get paid for the travel you plan and do, I’d be happy to send you the info! ✈️
Great blog! I adore Baltimore and stay there often. Happy early B'day! I know this vlog is old but your b'day is coming up again soon! And not me screaming, "noooooo, sis" as you removed things from the mini-fridge, but I understand the struggle. I often take healthy snacks with me too! This no microwave and fridge in rooms needs to stop! I hope the hotel let you slide. But otherwise, hope you enjoyed yourself. God Bless You. ☺
Lol at noo sis and thank you. They did reimburse me. Yea in my experience the fancier or nicer the hotel the less likely they are to have a fridge or mic in the room.
Hey Shannon! I love staying in neighborhoods as well. It looks beautiful. I love your travel vlogs. The pastries look like empanadas. I'm sure similar. La Perla looks really artsy, historic and eclectic which is definitely my vibe. Overall, the different cities remind me of Portugal which l love and l will definitely be going back. You would really enjoy it.Can you give your likes and dislike and/or recommendations?
Yes the pastillos and empanadas are one in the same at least from what I can tell. Our tour guide said that pastillos are bigger I think, but the girl that was serving them was still calling them empanadas. I would definitely recommend the tour, old San Juan, la Placita and la perla. The chapin from Carlin’s, shrimp mofongo from Mi Casita’s, and soup from Kasalta and La Casita Blanca were all good, but I wished they were served hotter. And it may be a cultural thing, they may not serve their food piping hot. Also, this is not a dislike, but more of an observation- a looot of the local food is fried. I came back with three new pimples lol. Even our first Uber driver said, “our food is good, but it’s not healthy. You’ll need to detox after this”. She wasn’t lying lol. I can’t really think of any dislikes. It was a beautiful island.
Happy birthday 🎉. Next time try The Ivy in Mt. Vernon. Black owned and all of the rooms have fireplaces in them. High tea and breakfast is included in the price. You get a lot for the value.
I got the Johnson & Johnson vaccine too my side effects were also being cold 🥶 I sat infront of my space heater because I was freezing and l had swelling in my arm i used a ice pack to take the swelling down i had body muscle aches as well I’m feeling fine now
Hey Shannon! I love your travel videos, especially solo vacays. Pretty much everything you post. Yes l will be taking my son to Colorado springs next month for college. I went to the Bahamas a few years ago. I miss traveling. Especially abroad. I'll be in Napa Valley in October. On another note: Could you please do a video about how you became a librarian and what lead you on that path? I worked in the library in high school and the bookstore throughout high school and college. I've been working from home for the past 18 months so I've had alot of time to focus om my goals. Right now my focus is to get my settled in college and focus on what next move will be. I've lived abroad for years and now that I'm back in country and a home owner, I'm getting the itch to move abroad again so I'm in the planning stage.
Thanks so much for watching! I probably should do some type of intro/Q&A type video where maybe I can talk about how I became a Librarian. How was it living abroad? I’d like to experience it, even if only for a short amount of time- say a couple months. Best of luck to your son on this new journey.
@@shannon_not_so_bland lol yes that would be a great idea. I loved living abroad. The first time l was in Germany as a soldier and my son was born for 3 years. The second time l lived in Germany was for 3 years from 2015-2018. I enjoyed it much more because it was with my current federal government job and my son and l were able to travel extensively throughout Europe, Scandinavia and the UK. I feel safer abroad than in the states. My son loves it too. I dont fear for him being a young black male abroad. Of ciurse there is racism and issues. However we didnt encounter any of that.
I'm from Philly and it's like literally ten thousand places in Philly to get cheese steaks, from pizza stores, neighborhood stores which are the best places to go. Food trucks, restaurants and usual tourist spots, everybody makes theirs different. All about your taste
