Formerly known as “The Shooters Table” I’ve decided to make a name change to show more about what we do on the channel. The channel will be devoted to the safety of guns, shooting, and education about the firearms world. We will do a lot of gun Disassembly/assembly videos which will aid in proper maintenance and cleaning of firearms keeping them safe. Does it actually matter if you go long leg or short leg touching the sear? Other videos say you go short leg up into the sear and long leg hanging down, you said the opposite on yours. Just curious if it even matters?
Help! I just cleaned my FNX-9 and was reassembling it. (Had on glasses I seldom wear, up close vision is tough to focus.) I must have pushed the take-down lever back up without realizing it. The slide is jammed, halfway on. I can't move the slide or takedown lever. Anyone have the solution?
@@TheGunBench Thanks for answering. Slide and take down lever were locked solid, maybe 1/16" of movement on either no matter how much pressure. The guide rod was still sticking out, of course, and looked slightly misaligned. I touched it to move it back in alignment, and the slide snapped forward, just missing my fingertip! Slide came off, I reassembled like normal. I'd worked on it over an hour before posting, then barely touching the guide rod did it. If anyone ever runs into this, use something to poke the guide rod into alignment. You could lose a fingertip if the slide gets you! I've cleaned this and guns like it literally hundreds of times, and never had this happen. You learn something every day - in my case, be more careful!

Great video. Just used for the bellator short stroke trigger install from Galloway. Major regret. Will use again to reinstall the factory trigger and trade for the M&P 57 or an F&N. Thanks!
Great video! I owned my Security 6 for forty years and never did a complete breakdown to do a deep clean and lube. I was amazed how clean the trigger and hammer assembly was after all these years. I applied a tiny amount of lubricant to some of the pivot points. This made a noticeable difference with the gun’s action. it’s definitely a lot smoother. Thanks for the knowledge.
Thank you for this video my hammer spring and baseplate needed to be replaced due to a poor re-assembly job that left the spring bent a little the tricks you had in here helped me get the new parts in, i have no idea how my ex and myself both couldn't figure that baseplate out, seems so simple now...
It's a long story, involving installing an optics plate, with things going a little sideways, but you helped me figure out where certain parts went back in, and how. You really saved the day. I hope RU-vid doesn't take down this video. Thank you for taking the time to do this video and then making it available for the rest of us.
Thanks for the video. I was able to figure out how to remove the mag release without prying under it. I just used a very fine punch on the center of the pin in the middle and it popped right out.
Putting the trigger passably , block and slide catch all in at the same time with that middle pin is a Bitch , I used a punch on the opposite side and slid it in all the way and let the pin follow in through
Not a very impressive design in my opinion. Seems foolishly overcomplicated. I hope the Bodyguard 2.0 isn't designed the same. I know the original BG380 was a very different design... so I hope the new Bodyguard is less complicated like the original. The EZ models just seem excessively complex, expensive to manufacture and a pain in the ass to assemble when there are nearly an infinite amount of better ways to to do it. (If I owned a firearms manufacturing company and an engineer came to me with this design, I'd probably fire him).
Really appreciate the video. My only advice (for anyone reading this) is that you gotta be careful with tapered punches. If you push or hammer them too deep, they'll damage the hole and oversize it. Have done it myself a couple times over the years, so I stopped using tapered punches. I know better not to do it, but sometimes the pins stick and you need to use extra force which can (at times) end up being pushed or hit deep enough for the taper to get forced into the hole. I stopped using tapered punches, because of that. There are also some guns that are just too wide and/or need the pin to be punched a lot deeper before it will come out... and none of the tapered punches I've ever had were long enough to push the pins all the way through on all guns... which can also lead to pushing the punches too deep.
Be careful when hiting out the slide lock lever pin. I literally out a small crack in my frame right next to where the lever goes into the frame. Luckily it didnt affect anything. Put about 1000 rounds since, no problems. I will eventually order a new frame, but they are hard to come by.
Really helpful video! Used it for my FNX-9. I am having an issue where my trigger/trigger bar won’t reset after one DA pull, but will reset if I cock the hammer. Any suggestions on what I should check and why it won’t reset?
