Back in 2016 when I had my first, I’d lost too much blood and my milk didn’t even come in. I formula fed her and I’d get hate for not bf her. One guy told me he was glad it was a bottle I pulled out and not my breast. This time around, 4 weeks in and I’m still bf but topping up with formula and I’ve been called selfish for trying to cut out people from her life because I’m bfing her. You can can’t please everyone. All that matters is your baby’s happy and healthy ☺️
I’m so late in this video. But us moms are going to be judged regardless. 🤷🏾♀️ My baby girl latches but she doesn’t stay on to long. But it stimulates me to bring colostrum forth. But that’s all I’m getting. But I have patience for the long haul. 😂 But anyway I really liked the video. Thank you for the advice.
After you freeze the milk, how is it used? Since I see that they fill the bags with milk, how is it to be used, then take them out, take the ounces you need and put what is left in the fridge and then continue using the rest? And what do you do when you go out, how do you transport the milk?
Only if I had come across you when I had my son this past year this would have helped me so much he would latch either and I love Dr.Brown products you have an amazing supply but it meant for me to see this so that I can show my daughter she’s due in February thank you so much for this 🤩🤩🤩
Wonderful video! I pumped with my last baby years ago but never thought about prepping this way to even distribute the fat. I'll definitely be trying this method once my newest addition arrives next spring 🙂
What time do you usually make the bottles for the next day? Because I also have to pump a few times in the night and idk if I should add that to the pitcher and wait to make bottles in the morning or just make bottles the night before and start the new pitcher
Hi, I was wondering how it went with your freezer stash? Was the milk that was frozen in the deep freezer used by your child after all? I've seen videos where some babies didn't end up liking thawed frozen milk that had been stored. I would really love to see a follow up video! This video was so informative! Thank you!
Thank you so much. My baby ended up drinking her frozen milk. This process worked well for us. I just had my second baby and thinking about doing a follow up video now that im going through the process again 🙂
@@rociorogers1475 Thank you for responding. Thats great that your stash didn't go to waste! Congratulations on baby number two! :) My second is on the way and will be here early September. It's a 7 year gap between my first born and this time I know exactly how I want to feed baby #2, just like this <3. An early question for your follow up video: What temperature did you keep your deep freezer at in order to prevent freezer burn?
If today is Tuesday and I have Breast milk in storage bags from Sunday and Monday, can I mix Sunday and Mondays milk in the pitcher then get it ready for the next day & whatever left over for freezer bags?. Or is it just for same day?
The CDC now says you can mix freshly expressed milk with refrigerated milk. They’ve found bacteria does not grow with mixing the two. It was previously thought it was unsafe, but bacteria has not been found.
@@4WattersPlease So, it turns out that the CDC very recently recanted what they’d recommended about mixing temperatures. They’re not saying they don’t recommend it again because it lowers the temperature of the cooled milk. The CDC flip flops too much. You’d think they’d actually measure the level of bacteria instead of guessing what’s the best approach.
Thank you for this review! Doesn't seem like any of the other reviews include this bag, which is a shame, because it's obviously made with great design features!
Hi Rocio, thanks so much for the information. Very interesting video. I have a question regarding the pumping output; you mention that you get more milk out using the Spectra as the Elvie. Could you quantify it approximately? I am an Elvie user myself and I would like to assess if purchasing a Spectra makes sense for me.
I have 6 kids…the 5th didn’t latch at first (took a month of exclusive pumping) and now our 6th also won’t latch! She’s 5 weeks old. I am also not producing enough to feed her breast milk exclusively. We are supplementing with formula. Hopefully she’ll learn to latch, but I’m ok with just bottle feeding. Thank you so much for this video!
Thank you for this video!! I’m exclusively pumping, I hated that I wasn’t able to breastfeed exclusively. It took me a long time to accept the fact that Pumping IS Breastfeeding! My son was too easily frustrated and I wasn’t able to spend the time to help him because I had to rush back to work ASAP. He was also not gaining weight with just my milk also, so we are needing to mix in some formula into my milk to supplement his calorie intake. Its easy to lose heart, but I am feeling much more confident now. 🥰
Hi FTM mom here. Haven’t even started pumping yet 😂 So basically you just store all the milk you collected for the day. Prep for tomorrows meal and freeze the rest right?? So for the freezing part, you dont put the time anymore just the date??
Start with reducing the amount of time you pump before you drop that session. You can also pump closer to your next session gradually to where eventually you could drop a pump.
@@rociorogers1475 I bet! I’m not an over producer but I did try this method after I saw your video. I noticed that I would get through most of the milk but it seemed like there was always a small amount at the bottom that wouldn’t get used. Then I thought it couldn’t be good to continuously have that leftover and adding fresh milk on top of it, so thank you for clearing it up ❤️ I loved your video!
