Hello, everybody! My name is KC and I love dentistry. Im a foreign trained dentist here in the US and I'm fighting my way back into the field. Follow along!
Hello, thank you foe your useful videos.I wanted to clarify something you mentioned previously about the capabilities of a general dentist. As a general dentist, am I able to perform orthodontic treatments? Thank you for your guidance!
I don't think it's always black and white. Maybe some people want to practice as a Hygienist first to make some decent money and save it to survive during the 2 years residency in dental school. You never know, there are many reasons why someone could be a dental hygienist first, and it doesn't necesarely mean they are insecure or not smart enough... you could apply right away to residency and still be a horrible dentist,l know a few..
I’m not saying they are insecure or not smart enough. All I’m saying is it’s not a good decision strategically that’s all. It can’t be used as an advice to general public.
Hi! No, orofacial pain is not considered a specialty by CODA, so you cannot get a license based on that. If you would have completed a pediatric dentistry program in the US for example which is one of the specialties you would be able to get a license to practice in just a few states
Very helpful video doc. I do want to ask about the florida route.. if the dentist is still in their home country, can they pursue the florida hygienist licensure process?
You would have to evaluate your dental diploma, then take NBDHE or INBDE, only after that you can get approval from FL board to take 3 exams for the license. Theoretically you can start preparing for a national board exam from home and take it once you arrive and get permission to take it.
And does DDS/DMS holder dentist have higher chance to win H-1B visa than a normal person with a bachelor's? I mean is DDS/DMS in a same cap with master holders?
You have to have an American DDS, because no other permits you to practice. If that’s what you are asking. If you are asking about a residency program, as long you have a dental license you will have a higher chance of
Hello I if I am in the US on B1/B2 and I want to do change of status for F1 visa can I go to my home country in vacation, for example and come back ? Or I have to apply for F1 visa from my home country from the embassy ? If so what can I do ?
Thank you for a great video! Can you please tell more about dependents of the student visa holders? Are they allowed to work? For example, if a married couple goes to US on a student visa, can one of them study and another one work and cover all of the expenses?
Hello. Can you throw some light on how difficult is to get a H1b or a work visa after the one year OPT period? As you know it’s a lottery system to get a work visa, have you seen anyone not getting picked up and have to leave the United States or going for further studies? Please cover that in detail?
Hey congratulations on your achievement, can u plz guide me about if i go through all the step and get a licence of dental hygienist, how can i get work visa then
Thanks for this amazing breakdown of costs of dental school. It’s very informative and gives you a good idea in the direction you’d like to apply to. However, The State of Virginia has only one dental school that’s VCU in Richmond. UVA which is in Charlottesville (an hour away from Richmond) has a great medical school but no dental school.
Hii KC! Super Video as always! I got a weird question.. I’m moving to Boston soon to attend BU and I got a bigger dog like you do. It’s almost impossible to find a rental. How did you guys do it?? Around what location would you recommend?
