Hi everyone. I don't know if someone would relate on my experience. But i took twice already and didn't pass. I immigrated in Canada 5 years ago. And it took me 5 years to get my Degree in Electrical engineering evaluated here in canada (for some personal reasons) . And luckily it is equal to bachelor degree in engineering here. The thing is back home we focus only on electrical itself and the board exam is much more about electrical too so i pass it in first take. Now im having a hard time how to actually pass the FE exam here knowing that it is combination of electrical and computer. I tried studying NCEEs exam materials and bought Asghar book but still i didn't manage to pass. Im hoping for any advices and tips for someone has the same situation like me. I really wanna pass this. Thank you all

Ti36x pro can't do indefinite integrals, derivatives, nor evaluate limits. It's crazy I've watched 5 videos and nobody mentioned that, yet talk about a bunch of shi that doesn't really even matter. Casio 115ex plus can do all three, plus everything the TI can do.

Hi. I am trying to get ready for my FE Exam. I just got TI-36X Pro... and thank you to explain step by step how to use it. I tried to apply your concept into two different types of matrixs one with 3x3 and the other 2x2 but it gives me an error message. Can you math two different matrixs or both have to be in the same magnitude to be calc? The samething happens calc vectors... it works with two same coefficient but not different... Ex. i + j + z X i -z...
@neo11222
@neo11222 Год назад
you are getting the error because: in order to multiply matrices, the number of columns of the first matrix must be eaual to the number of rows of the second matrix. like a 3x2 matrix and a 2x2 matrix.

Honestly Americans are big pussies for calculators. The calculators allowed for this exam are complete and total garbage. In my country after out second year (electrical engineering focusing on power) we were allowed to use the TI-nspire CX CAS graphing calculator because it saves soooo much time with matrix, vector, complex numbers and integration calculations. Now that I immigrated and need to prep for this exam I am having just a little bit of trouble using this particular model. Too many button tappping for a simple vector operation. I really thank you for this video, it was of big help.

The TI-36X Solar isn’t even available anymore unless you buy a used one on EBAY. It was a good calculator for its time. The older calculators didn’t even have built in complex number capability. If you had a programmable calculator, you could create a program to simulate complex numbers. Other than that, you had to keep track of the algebra and the imaginary part yourself.

As a math and physics teacher I am astounded by the lack of knowledge in using calculators. This generation just uses their phone. I had a student that did not know how to divide on a calculator. One of my physics labs is dedicated to calculator use.

Hi Logan , I have question regarding topics need to study I have new FE book green yellow of Electrical and computer. in this book under Topic "Probability and Statistics", it covers all topic which is part of "Environmental" discipline. should I avoid extra topic? as per Author I have to read all topics which are in BLUE color. I have 75 days to prepare . every day I will study 5 hours and on weekend 10-12 hours per day. would this enough ? Syllabus of ECE: Probability and Statistics 4-6 A. Measures of central tendencies and dispersions (e.g., mean, mode, standard deviation) B. Probability distributions (e.g., discrete, continuous, normal, binomial, conditional probability) C. Expected value (weighted average) Syllabus of "Environmental" Probability and Statistics 4-6 A. Measures of central tendencies and dispersions (e.g., mean, mode, standard deviation) B. Probability distributions (e.g., discrete, continuous, normal, binomial) C. Estimation for a single mean (e.g., point, confidence intervals) D. Regression (linear, multiple), curve fitting, and goodness of fit (e.g., correlation coefficient, least squares) E. Hypothesis testing (e.g., t-test, outlier testing, analysis of the variance)

Thank you for the information!!! In your opinion, how long it takes to get prepared for the exam, i graduated from University in 2008? Thank You So much!!!
@loganrempe9625
@loganrempe9625 3 года назад
Hey Luis! I’m glad you liked the video. Sorry for the late response too! So given that you graduated in 2008, it will take you longer to study than most other test takers. I imagine you haven’t done much integration or circuit problems in the past 12 years, so it will take some time to shake off the rust and relearn those subjects. I would highly recommend getting one of those large FE review manuals I discussed in the video, and start doing those bench mark tests that are at the beginning or end of each chapter. These will assess how much knowledge you have retained in the past 12 years. My guess is that you will need to go through each chapter and relearn most of the concepts. If you are able to put in a little bit of study time each day, I think you could be ready in about 3 to 4 months.

Did you bother in reviewing concepts for the exam? Or literally just pounded out questions?
@loganrempe9625
@loganrempe9625 4 года назад
Great question. Whenever I started reviewing, I separated each topic out and would do a benchmark of questions on that topic to see how much I still remembered. If I got most (~70%) correct, I would move to the next topic. If I didn’t get 70% correct I would review that concept. Once I did this with all the topics, I worked out a ton of practice questions.

I love my TI-36 X Pro! ... But it suffers from one major flaw, it has a very low input capacity, around 40 bytes of input characters. When I tried to solve the simple Manning equation for fluid flow in the Solver, I quickly ran out of input memory, and I had to pull out my 2-line Casio 991MS to solve it. The same goes for solving financial equations using a row of just THREE fractions that have 6 characters in both the numerator and denominator; the TI runs out of input capacity, whereas the Casio has 80 bytes of input capacity... /Regards

Agree. I, too, get this error often. A way around it is to simply your eqn as much as possible and try again. This approach works well under casual scenario. But under a stressful scenario such as the one during an FE and PE, it does not work.
