I loved A Country Practice. I always liked Dr Elliot (Shane Porteous). It was shown on ITV (UK) Wednesday afternoons at 1.30 pm. So sad when Molly died. Great characters - brilliant actors. ❤ ❤

We moved to Europe the year this ended, but my auntie and sister said this and the final episode were some of the saddest TV episodes in Australian history.
@@stephaniemcquillan1930 If you live in Australia. The entire series has been released on 7 plus. (Channel 7 streaming service). I bought the entire DVD boxsets that are available to buy in Australia. Not sure if they have international release. But I am sure if you go on Ebay you can purchase them from sellers that will post overseas. Hope this helps!
Liked Emma wasn’t a fan of Sam he was childish at times one of the worst story lines was John I and rowie they weren’t suited in my opinion loved dougie
I remember as a child watching this with my mom in the late afternoons on RTÉ1 Ireland and it was also on HTV Wales now called ITV. They don't make shows like this anymore.
Also watched on RTE Ireland at 5.30pm weekdays. RTE treated the show really well and it had a huge following in Ireland. It debuted in September 1985 on RTE Two, with the final episode airing on 13 February 1997 on RTE One.
Was getting into this while in our lockdowns here in Ireland. They have released them on DVD awaiting my order of the third collection. love Simon and Vicky. RIP Vicky, Shirley, Esme, Cookie and Bob.
Currently watching series three on DVD. The early series’s with Vicky and Simon is the best. So glad the DVD’s are available to watch here cannot wait for the rest of the collections to be released. Great montage sad to think some of the actors have passed away.
I loved the bit about the Ferrari, timely seeing it now as Geoffrey Edelston died about a week ago. I watched the final episode on 7 Plus while in lockdown in Melbourne last week, a real nail biter. Watching these later episodes again made me think that ACP still had some life left in it and Seven should of kept it going at least another year or two with a few small tweaks. I watched episodes 799-800(Series 11-1991) last night on 7 Plus and laughed out loud during the scenes with Bob and Cookie trying to make money out of the film shoot that formed the plot of that episode, getting Bob to impersonate Arnold Schwarzenegger and Arnold filing a lawsuit via fax. They should never of written out Bob and Cookie as they were a good source of entertainment and they were missed.
"A Country Practice" was aired in Canada during the 1990s, especially in the Atlantic Provinces such as Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick through "Atlantic Satellite Network" (ASN), and eventually nationwide through Show Case. Too bad the show got cancelled in the mid 1990s as the characters were hilarious, including Dr. Terrence Elliott, Alex Fraser (whom was popular among Nova Scotians due to her Scottish heritage), "Cookie Locke", Bob Hatfield, Frank Gilroy, Maggie Sloane, Peter Manning, and Esme Watson. Definitely a great alternative to American Soap Operas like Another World or All My Children.
