As an independent researcher, I've discovered that Charles Dickens was not the original author of A Christmas Carol. Originally, according to my findings, it was a spiritualist redemption story, where all the supernatural elements were intended to be authentic, along with the spirituality. It was written, as I believe, by Mathew Franklin Whittier (younger brother of Quaker poet John Greenleaf Whittier), and his wife, Abby Poyen Whittier. Dickens merely secularized it within six weeks to make some quick cash, not expecting it to be as popular as it was, because to him it was only a "Ghost Story of Christmas." He then had to act the part of someone who might have written it, both to the public and even to his family.
22:38 - I loved the quick drop in the posh accent of the make up woman in the shop, when she said "look" - love that. This is great observation, as yes, people in department stores put on a very posh voice, but it can drop away for a few moments. Loved it.
