@AlexandraAllover just released here point of view of the recent developments of our journey through Latin America in her newest video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9KRd41XMnsQ.html
Thank you so much for your honesty, Paul. I am so sorry to learn of your father's serious illness. I am interested to learn more of the unattractive and difficult aspects of living in South America.
Yeah, YT is still suppressing your content bro, I didn’t get any notifications about this video when it came out and I’ve been a subscriber for a long long time. I know it must be so frustrating and disheartening but keep pushing man and don’t be afraid to show all sides of the story. 🙌
Great video Paul. Maybe you can extend this new, critical approach, not only to Paraguay (which is a narrow topic) but to South America in general, or long term trips on a budget in general. That would allow you to reach a broader audience.
Hi Guys! great video and very informative, thank you as it is so hard to get this form of real quality info! Can I ask for the contact for the stunning bungalow/house you stayed with small pool please? :)
Thank you so much, i am glad it helps. Yea it was a cozy place. We booked it for a month. Though prices seemingly went up a lot since back then. I just checked the new Airbnb listing: www.airbnb.com/rooms/549304432309506455
I remember watching your videos a couple years ago and sometimes I wondered what happened to you guys and if you were still making videos. Thanks for being transparent on your experience and not just showing the highlights. Maybe you’ll share in the next video but curious if you’re back in Paraguay or if you decided to stay in Europe?
Hey everyone, I just want to express my gratitude for all your support and understanding as I open up about the real struggles behind the scenes of my journey through South America. Your encouragement means the world to me. Let's embark on this new chapter together, where honesty and authenticity take center stage. Can't wait to share more raw and unfiltered experiences with you all. Much love!
Hope things are going better now and thanks for sharing! When you cover Paraguay, please do consider from the perspective of an ex-pat with decent funding who just wants to live in Asunción, as well as the more adventurous folks like yourself. :-). I've been to Asunción several times and never had any issues, but super interested to see what you've encountered. Be well!
Yes thats a good point. Asuncion is a great city and we spent some good months there. Paraguay offers a nice variety of options for everyone. I will shine a critical light on these though
It's cool man I appreciate your honesty and you're a great guy sending prayers to your dad I'll always be here for you whenever ya need me just like you're there for me keep your head up and always know things will workout for you I'm sure of it :)
Thank you for setting the record straight. No apologies needed. Very much appreciate your honesty. I’m looking forward to the new more balanced approach videos. That said, the earlier videos, even though they left out some of the challenges that you were dealing with at the time, were fun and very enjoyable to me! Keep up the good work
Seems to me you are having a tough moment, sorry to hear about your Dad, I hope he gets better. I hope you find the strength to overcome difficult times, it is not South America that is the problem, it is life...
Hey Paul, I really appreciate the honesty and thank you for sharing! I am so sorry hearing about your dad. I have been thinking of you guys recently quite some time and I wish you and your family all the best. Stay strong 💪
Paraguayan residency is the easiest and at the same time the most difficult residency you will ever get… Only those who have gone through the process will understand. We can start this process for you. Think about the pros: Paraguay has a friendly tax system: it has no wealth tax, no capital gains tax, no inheritance or estate tax. And no capital acquisitions tax.
Clueless, go through the official channels, just going and asking without out filling out the forms and printing off the required documents only an idiot would do
As far as I know almost all countries participated in the first lock down. The good thing is that you’d till had lots of freedoms in many places in Paraguay. As with all countries, the further you are away from civilization, the more true freedom you will enjoy.
Even Mexico and Brazil had lockdowns, but the countries were open at all times. In Paraguay, during the lockdown, you were not allowed to enter, unless you had a residency or citizenship.
@@66wow99 we did not yet have a residency in PY during the lockdown that happened all around the world. We got our residency at the beginning of 2021. From what we have heard it depended a lot where you were during that time. In the big cities they implement the same restrictions as everywhere else in the world, but in a lot of smaller communities life continued like always. In early 2021, when we were there, they tried to implement a one week lockdown but nobody cared. Life as always. In the following episode of this video we talk about how there was a riot in Asuncion because people wanted to go back to normal. That set the government back and ever since then there has never been an attempt to do a lock down again.
Nice Video. Just to let your viewers know Permanent Residency is a long, complicated process. Our lawyers have been working on it for 4 months and some say it can take 6 months to a year. All your documents need to be translated and apostled as well as for me a flight back to the USA (I live in Ceara) to get my FBI Background Check fingerprints. I am applying for a Permanent Residency Visa by Spouse. (We have been married for 23 years, but all our USA marriage certificates had to be translated etc.) Their is no "Easy Way" to get Permanent Residency and normally when you go to the Federal Police it is by appointment' only (wearing black slacks). Be Prepared, don't be disappointed thinking this is an easy process.😎 On the bright side, now that I am living here I have my own house w/pool which could easily be an Air BnB and the lady that does my wife's nails comes to my wife's house.
Thank you for sharing your journey here. Residencies truly can be a complicated topic. Im glad it is all working out well for you. We are still evaluating our options. We have heard there might be a change for Mercosur residence in the coming year. We have Paraguay residency and it might be made easier for us to get Brazilian residency as well. We will see. We are currently traveling to the most eastern point of Brazil and then South. Where are you located in Brasil?
I visited Asuncion on August 15,2023. The weather was hot but not that bad. Many people are kind and respectful and they also like to help you. We were looking to find our address. The taxi driver and two other gentlemen were really helpful. One of them even walked one block to show the right number. However we gave him a good tip. I had a bad experience the next day of arrival. I walked alone to a busy market which had a lot of very small shops. Maybe it is some kind of bazaar. I entered a shopping plaza. There were not that many people there. I walked almost to the end of this place. It ended with some stairs to the end of the plaza. I saw a toilet. The sign was for men and women. I entered the men section. But one woman who was collecting money yelled at me to go to the other side. There was also another toilet on the other side. I walked there and I felt someone was following me. He stopped right at the front door after me. I got a little suspicious and finished it very fast. When I turned around to come out, I saw a huge guy just one step away from me. His face looked exactly like criminals with a lot of scars on it. He was hiding something behind him. Because both his hands were behind him. It looked like he was attempting to attack. I am a tall person with 180 centimeters, with a slim body. He was taller than me and looked very strong. I didn't panic and looked at his eyes and said Holla. He didn't say anything and let me pass. I also said hello to the other guy at the front door and rushed out to the lady who was collecting money. I paid good money. I think all the people over there knew each other. They purposely sent me to that washroom. I am really happy that it went all well for me. The name of the street which ends at that bazar is (Silvio Pettriossi ). It is a bazaar with very small shops and you can find almost everything from clothes, food, electronics, kids toys and a lot of other stuff. I will never go to such places alone. Especially to places which are hidden in the back of the street. I have seen a lot of nice places like big shopping plazas like (del Sole Shopping Lifestyle). My advice is be very careful to go places like that one alone and be very vigilant. I don't go out at night. Overall my experience of visiting Paraguay is positive. I had rented a place through Airbnb. It is a very nice and clean apartment. It cost $750 Canadian dollars for 11 days. The area of the city is not that clean but it is the most of the streets in Asuncion. The food is also not that cheap, especially fruit and veggies, only alcohol and meats are really cheap. It is no wonder almost all stores have alcohol. If you decide to travel to Paraguay, try to have most of your money in US dollars. Only the Central bank accepts other currency and this bank is open only until 2 pm. I wish you all the best of luck if you visit this country. I also found this web site very informative. Thanks.
Phew, tricky one. I’d have to guess myself. It could be magic, kinda like the headphones themselves, or maybe just some cool algorithm trick. Maybe youtube has a time counter and it just automatically updates my Thumbnails… or worse, what is if someone hacked my account and doesn’t do anything but update my thumbnails and titles every year… damn… could be anything… or maybe i just updated it myself and just forgot about it… i guess it doesn’t even matter how it happened, all i know its my best performing video and i can’t wait for 2024… 😆
Thank you ! finally a video counting the negative points, we are looking to improve and the investment is great to risk, with your video we are sure that it is indicated. We wish to cross them on the road. Geande hug!
I am so glad i could help with this. I was also concerned that most people always talk about the positive things and no one mentions the negatives. It’s as if all these big RU-vidrs are just part of a marketing campaign for the products.
Thank you 🙌🏼 Land in Paraguay can still be bought for pretty awesome prices. We havent looked into agricultural land but we know of many people who are running their own farms. A good place to look for land in Paraguay is Facebook Marketplace. People in Paraguay seem to love to place their Land and other items for sale on Facebook. I hope you find a good patch for yourself, we for sure keep an eye open for good deals!
@@dwightthementor glad things were going well for you. I hope you will never have to deal with their customer service. This is where things are going south.
Hmm, good question. Id say it will survive a few drops but definitely not a sure thing. The plastic will probably chip at some point. They sure won’t completely break apart if dropped from head hight but i guess it is similar to a cell phone. A few times you might get lucky but eventually something will give.
Hey thanks for asking, i eventually did. I liked them and all but they turned out too big for my use. I ended up going with smaller earbuds instead. Though if you are in the market for over the ear headphones, i think they offer great value.
Please my family and i would like to visit. We have 5 children and want to connect with someone there to find offgrid land to buy in the next several months or so.
Bahia is an amazing place to be. We can highly recommend it. Our favorites are Canavieiras, Porto Seguro & Itacaré and all the places along that coast. When are you planning on going to Brazil?
Once you get your Paraguayan residency you can get your Paraguayan drivers license and you drive with that one. As a tourist you can drive with your passport and your native drivers license for up to three months. I have never needed an international drivers license, nowhere, ever. And i have traveled to 60 countries all around the world.
Good question. We actually drove all the way. You can see it in all the episodes. We started in Paraguay, drove to Rio and then eventually up to the dunes. But we heard it is also possible to fly there. When i go to Skyscanner, then i can see cheap return flights from Rio to Sao Luis. That is the closest, biggest city in the area. It’s around 250 USD round trip. From Sao Luis you can take a bus to get to the dunes. I hope that helped. Let us know if you have any more questions about it. We are happy to help. We really loved our time there. Best greetings, Paul and Alexandra
I want to move to Paraguay w my children but i wonder can i get residency w 5000$ Usd for ever 🤔 And what you mean by that the people can show University Degree instead money 🤔
Great question. The requirements for Paraguay residency have slightly changed in November 2022. So since this video aired they made things a bit more streamlined, removed steps but also added one more step. At the moment you are not required to bring your proof of solvency at the initial application. The proof of solvency was either 5000 usd deposit per family or one family member having a Higher Education degree instead. This is now not required at the beginning of your journey, but you will have to bring it after two years, when you renew your temporary residency for the permanent residency. With the first application you get a 2 year residency and then you submit to the permanent residency. You are still able to all the things you wanted to do with your Paraguay residency in those first two years, so there is no compromise here. Let me know if this helped and feel free to book a free call with me if you have more questions. The link for the call is in the description of the video!
Yes the internet is always an important topic! The good news here is that the bigger cities in Paraguay do have a vast expansion program with their Fiberglas internet. We never actually had our own internet contract but we stayed at many hotels and airbnbs. The last time we were in Asuncion about a year ago we got speeds up to 100 Mbit. When driving around though we saw advertisements for fiberglass up to 200 Mbit. The internet situation seems to change fast. In San Bernardino, a smaller city outside of Asuncion, we had 50 Mbit the first year and then a year later they upgraded the city to 100mbit. Paraguay is in a huge expansion phase at the moment and we left for our South America tour about a year ago. So things might have changed to the better already. On the countryside internet was just available through high antennas. But worst case scenario, this year Starlink Internet will become available in Paraguay, just like it is now in many other South American countries. The price probably around 55 usd per month and 450 usd for the dish. and many people we saw got a steady 250 Mbit download with it. Should we chose to buy land in a remote location that would be an option for us. But like I said, cities getting build out with fiberglass. To get specific companies just google the city & fiberglass internet and some options will show up. I hope that helped.
In this video did you try yet to turn the transmitter volume down with the receiver volume compensating. The hum (Not hiss) firmware dated January 4th 2023 was meant to fix that, you tested a lot so I'd figure you tried the newest firmware already? Nice little work around for the iPhone you did, it takes me literally 5 seconds to make stereo sound in post edit but better when you don't have to for sure. I returned mine, I wanted to use it in a completely silent studio environment so I can walk around and setup review products but there is annoying "hiss" in that is noticed when in a silent place. Outside for me it was great. DJI for a high end wireless 100% should have given this a locking lavalier port, without one it is very picky with almost all high end lavaliers which are nearly all locking type.
Hi Eric from Not Bios Studio, thanks for watching my video on the DJI Mic and for sharing your insights on the device. I did try adjusting the transmitter volume with the receiver compensating during my testing, but I wasn't aware of the firmware update you mentioned. I'll definitely check that out, thank you for letting me know! I'm glad you found my workaround for the iPhone helpful. It's always great to have options for achieving good sound quality. It's unfortunate that you had to return your DJI Mic due to the hiss in silent studio environments. I agree that a locking lavalier port would have been a great addition to the device, especially for high-end lavaliers. Overall, I found the DJI Mic to be a good option for wireless audio in outdoor environments. Thank you again for your comment and for sharing your experience with the device.
@@HaveYourADVENTURE If I did all my work outside it'd be pretty much A1. I ordered a new wireless system. One that is so new that the exact unit does not even have any reviews yet. I'm having it sent to my studio, I am still out of town living in apartment for the time being.
@@sparkestudio Hi Eric, Glad to hear that you've ordered a new wireless system and it's on its way to your studio. Hopefully, this will solve the issues that you were facing with the DJI Mic. Im looking forward to your review.
@@HaveYourADVENTURE Thank you, it seems like the system "should" have a low noise floor. If so I can use in the studio, my Xvive U5 is rather good most of the time but it is large in size. I'll be testing with wired lavaliers and not wired. To avoid clothing and movement sound with wired lavalier mic remember to make a loose wire loop just under the lavalier capsule. Also the wired lavalier should be installed at chest level. In the video your other half had it a little too high up.
