Good morning!! I'm sorry to hear you don't like it. Shoot us an email Info@SkySportsUSA.net or PM us on any social media platform. We would love to hear your thoughts. -Kyle
Good morning! Thank you for watching! There are only two "Certified" prop options for the Factory R at the moment. That being said, we know people who are running E-PROPS and Fast Acceleration props successfully on their Factor R motors. We will always recommend the options that Vittorazi does to maintain your warranty. Have an outstanding day!! -Kyle
@@skysportsusa5010 This is really great to hear as I've been wanting to try the Vitto props for a while now. I've only ever run Helix on the Factory R but noticed others online had other configurations which made me curious.
This is way over simplified. I've had my bolts get vibrated out and break props. Make sure to add blue Loctite on the threads and red Loctite on the exterior of the nuts and bolts.
Good afternoon and thank you for watching. I'm sorry to hear your carbon shroud lost some of its hardware and damaged your prop. Hopefully it was repairable. We use blue Loctite on the studs and Cross Check to mark the nuts. We'll make a more informative installation video in the future. If you have any questions shoot us a message to Info@SkySportsUSA.net. Have an excellent weekend!! -Kyle
Good morning and thank you for watching! We really appreciate it! I always lean on the less is more side. Some of the starters we have rebuild have been packed with debris that gets collected by lubricants. The main trouble spot we see that requires lubercant is where the MP057 rides on the center pin. This will develope corrosion and start binding up. I always clean it really well and use a small amount of WD-40. Thank you again for watching!! -Kyle
Good morning and thank you for watching! The 7 spring exhaust has been extremely reliable and I've only had to warranty a handful over the last 3 years. It has a two year warranty so if it does fail you will get a replacement. Using Molykote on the joints and WD-40 after each flight keeps everything moving freely. It's excellent preventative maintenance. I'm happy to answer any questions you have. I can be reached at info@SkySportsUSA.net. -Kyle
@@skysportsusa5010 thanks Kyle! So the other day when I was on the beach, I want to go start it, and I heard the clip come off and rubbing against the plastic and it was making a real loud noise and I only knew that was happening because it happened once before I took it apart and saw the clip off But when I want to go full throttle it on the beach, the clip must’ve fell back into place because that noise went away but I think something else is going on with the set up itself. I’m hoping to have the time today or tomorrow to take it all apart. Thank you for getting back to me. I will for sure be emailing you pictures and sending videos.
Hello. The MP053 spring of my pull starter has broken and I just ordered a new one. Can you please explain what is the procedure to replace it? Thanks ;)
Thanks for the question. Sorry you found a broken spring. The replacement you will receive is pre wound and tied in place with a wire. So... remove the old one and slide the new one in, making sure to locate the keeper tang in its slot. Then just evenly tap it down and into place. Please reach out if you have any other questions. Happy to help wherever we can! Thank you for your business!!! - Kris
Good morning Nik, this is Kyle and thank you for watching. The shrink wrap in combination with the safety cable will keep a broken spring from hitting your prop. The shrink wrap may also damper the sound from the vibration of the motor. I hope this helps. We are always around if you have any more questions.
Hello, I just broke in my Moster 185. I'm wondering how much oil is acceptable at the exhaust joint. I'm assuming this is quite normal. It's not that much but there is oil on the cylinder and around the exhaust at the joint. Thank you!
hi! interesting video.. im going to buy a moster my22... But.. i didnt know about 2 types of reducction Could you explain me whats the diferent between them??? Does Vitorazzi sell the engines with reduction "random"? or you choose it? thanks in advance for the answer!
Good morning! Great questions. When we sell a Moster 185 Plus you get to choose your reduction. If you plan on using a larger 140cm prop the 2.87 is the option to pick. The 2.68 reduction only has 125cm and 130cm approved prop options. Shoot us an email info@SkySportsUSA.net if you have any more questions. We are always happy to help. -Kyle
@@skysportsusa5010 hi thanks for answer.. Well more interesting to know... wich one generates more thrust... wich less CHT... and maybe vibrations or noise... thanks again! (the prop that i want to use is Helix 130)
@@ZeroGMVideosgood morning! I'm sorry I missed your comment. Helix produces the most thrust and is the most durable. E-props are the lightest and are very responsive to throttle input. The Fast Acceleration is a perfect blend of the two. We have not tested CHT. That would be something cool we should look into. -Kyle
@@skysportsusa5010 its fine! thanks for the answer... i bought Helix and 2.68 red... my doubt was about reduction, not type of prop.. but any way , more info always its good! Best flights!
Overpriced piece of plastic garbage that can and will break many times over the engines life span potentially killing the pilot when it fails. I’ve had these starters fail on startup or blow up while running and jamming the flywheel to a dead stop and killing the motor on multiple Moster 185’s. I like the Moster engines themselves but the starters are overpriced death traps.
Good afternoon, I apologize I missed your comment and am sorry to hear you had a bad experience with yours. The new MY22 motors have a two year warranty and we make the warranty process painless. I've rebuilt dozens of them and I'm still trying to figure out why they fail. The two most common issues I see is what is featured in this video and the MP054/MP052 melting together. Shoot me an email info@SkySportsUSA.net. I'd like to know what year your motors are and how many hours are on them. I'm always looking to learn. Have a great afternoon!
Good morning!! This is Kyle and I hope all is well! We inspect the bronze bushing at 25hr intervals and replace it at 50hrs. I add Molykote to both joints when I see corrosion or when I'm just trying to be proactive. The key to pipe longevity is keeping everything moving free. Have a wonderful day!
Hey Kyle, This is Kyle and I hope all is well. We use WD-40 post fliight to wipe them down. This prevents corrosion and keeps them looking great. Have an excellent day!!
The maintenance manual says to measure the gap between the spring and washers. In the video you make a measurement without the spring in place. Is there a reason for this? I'm trying to do this maintenance and am trying to figure out the correct way to do so.
Good afternoon and thank you for watching. I'm measuring between the top of the washer stack and the recess where the spring rides on the center pin. I do it this way because it's easier for me to see the gap without the MP057 installed. Shoot me an email info@skysportsusa.net with any questions. I'm always happy to help.
At the risk of being outside the bounds of "what you SHOULD do".... can you comment about what the consequences are for running a prop that is has a mismatched reduction ratio. Would it be correct to assume that having a motor/pulley that was 2.68 reduction ratio and putting a 2.87 prop on it would be placing you at risk of poorer cooling and is the higher risk type of mismatch? And, if that is so, would running a 2.68-ratio'd-prop on a motor setup with a 2.87 pulley be a situation where you might lose efficiency but you shouldn't really be "risking damage or overheating"? In other words, is running a 2.68 prop that is mismatched relatively safe/OK but mismatching the other way adds risk? Is this correct or have I gotten this backwards (or maybe there are other considerations)?
Good afternoon and thank you for watching. Let's take a 130cm prop. The 2.87 version will have more pitch then the 2.68. If you put a 2.87 prop on a 2.68 motor it is going to make it work harder, lower the max rpm, and create heat. If you put a 2.68 prop on a 2.87 motor you will not make as much thrust and possibly over rev the motor. I hope this helps. We would never suggest using the wrong reduction prop on a Vittorazi motor. Please shoot us an email info@SkySportsUSA.net if you have any more questions. -Kyle
Thanks for video, Kyle. My starter has broken in flight. Loose center bolt and backlash appeared and almost complete internal destruction occurred. You need to twist it tightly and keep an eye on it. Engine running 47FH.
Good morning and thank you for watching! Our goal is to make servicing your Vittorazi motor as easy as possible. Please reach out if you need anything. Have a great week.
Thank you for watching. I use carb cleaner to wipe down all the parts. I use a light lubricant in the groove where the MP057 rides. It's to prevent corosion. You don't want to use grease or it will attract debris and bind it up. Shoot us an email info@skysportsUSA.net if you need anything. -Kyle
Good morning! I hope you had a great weekend. The newest version of the starter has been excellent. Excessive use might cause a little darkening on the commutator but unless you notice a performance change I would not worry. An unbalanced prop might cause the brushes to break prematurely. Have a great day and thank you for watching!!
Great video / I GOTTA add: Use a non petroleum based lubricant to slip lines over swedge fittings. The problem with using “2 stroke oil”, as recommended in video is. The fuel line is made from petroleum products / lubricating it with petroleum accelerates decomposition of the fuel line….. and right at the most critical points. It’s like when you put a rubber band on your wrist & after a day or two it starts getting weak, loose, falling apart. That’s the natural oil secreting from your skin, migrating into the rubber band ( petroleum product ) so the oil from your skin ( petroleum ) is trying to break down the rubber band ( petroleum product ) to its natural state. Nowwwwww…….. All that said, YES, I realize it’s PETROLEUM that will be pumped through the line & yes, this too, at a slower rate than oil, corrodes the line. That’s also WHY it’s important NOT to use an oil based lubricant slipping on the line, that WILL accelerate the break down & your leaks WILL start there BEFORE you see the damage & much sooner than if you had not started with that oil based lubricant. Sorry it’s long winded / it’s really simple. Simply put, you could spit on it & it would be better….. a lil touch of dish washing detergent on the swedge. And there are plenty of petroleum free lubricants for sale just for this purpose & reason. Have fun, fly safe! #stayhuman
Good afternoon! Thank you for taking the time to comment and give us a little education. We'll look into some other option to install fuel line. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. -Kyle
@@skysportsusa5010 Thank you! Nowwwww all I gotta do is save / set aside the $ to buy one from y’all! I Loooove my PTF RS w the dual start / Moster 185………. But mannnnnn……. I NEEEEED THAT FACTORY R!!!! When I’m ready, I plan on buying from y’all. 🍻
Good content! These Vittorazi Moster 185 recoil starters are certainly a weak link, if not a complete nightmare! I've found that they need constant maintenance. Another issue is that the recoil spring will sometimes break, or become disengaged from the retainer, allowing it to just spin in place, and not create any tension. Uuuggghhh!!!
Thank you for watching! I was just rebuilding a starter and the MP051 spring failed. Our goal is to save people money by showing how to rebuild them. I hope all is well! Thank you for taking the time to comment! Please reach out if you need anything! -Kyle
Yes sir. We just cut a tiny section out of the added rubber grommet so the wire can pass through the top. We have Trail Tech temp meters and 3 in 1 meters in stock that both work with the shroud.
Very creative! The install trick is this: don't be afraid to apply the necessary pressure to bend the upper part of the shroud back and over the upper studs. Not as easy as the mutant turtles make it look here. 🐢🐢🐢
I haven't had to do any service on my machines, but your videos make me confident when the time comes. Please keep doing this series, all the way though major cylinder/crank/piston replacements would be a great resource for the community
Thank you for watching! I hope you had a great weekend! We plan on adding content throughout the winter. You can always reach out to us if you need anything. Info@SkySportsUSA.et
Hey Criss! Thank you for watching! Vittorazi recommends the 10mm prop spacer for Helix props even if you don’t have a cooling shroud on a Moster 185 -Kyle
Excellent video and overview, Kyle! You are the greatest paramotor supply house in the US, keep it up!!! It's funny to me how people are holding out for the MY22 instead of the MY20, when a few bucks in parts will make it an MY22!!! It's great marketing, but it is still the same ole reliable Vittorazi Moster 185, which really hasn't changed a huge amount since the 2016 Dark Evolution!!! Enjoy your time flying and stop sweating the "latest and greatest." I switched to a Polini Thor 202 for more thrust and lower gas consumption after flying a Vittorazi Moster 185 for 2.5 years. I'm thrilled with it!!! There are only some minor annoyances, but mostly it has to do with my big ass head and shoulders blocking the radiator!
Thank you for the kinds words and for watching! I really appreciate you sharing your experience with the Moster 185 and Polini 202! The MY22 features some nice refinements that are all available as upgrades for the MY20. We built a listing at the store to make it easier for the MY20 owners to upgrade. All the Dark Evolution models are great. I hope all is well and that you have a great weekend!! -Kyle
@@skysportsusa5010 You've earned the Kind words -- y'all do an amazing job of customer service, knowledge, sharing of knowledge, and the personal notes in the packages really hit. Aye, the MY22 has some refinements/improvements, but overall, the MY22 is nearly identical to the MY20 when it comes to engine design and performance. I love the one-stop upgrade your MY20 to an MY22! Gotta get ready to go fly tonight. Woot!
Good afternoon Rob, This is Kyle and I hope all is well. Thank you for watching. We have Vittorazi Moster 185 motors in stock and ready to ship starting at $3070.00. Visit SkySportsUSA.net to check out our inventory or email info@SkySportsUSA.net with any questions. Have a great weekend! -Kyle
I had this exact issue. The pull cord was not retracting. The fix you show in this video did not help me totally. What I did was add a couple of the metal shim rings on the bottom of the X cross base piece to give a little space between the (MP041) assembly and the base. I did this at 3:54 according to your instructions. That's the point where it was getting caught up. After that it worked fine.
Hey! Thank you for sharing and for watching! Did you take any photos of what your MP042 starter structure and MP052 plastic pulley looked like? Shoot us an email to Info@SkySportsUSA.net with any photos. We would like to see if we can identify why you had to add shims there. Thanks, Kyle!
