I have a feeling I know what you're going to say. I've felt a calling to do more and be more and have thought about going back to school to become a sped teacher. However I had thought of being a life coach in the past and now seems like the right time to do it as I'm not sure I want to shackle myself with the constraints of being a teacher again.
Remember that many people have been through things much heavier than divorce and getting fired- stuff like sexual abuse, being prostituted, exploited by narcissistic sociopathic sadists from hell, drugged out, and tortured. There is evil in this world more perverted than you'd ever imagine and it goes on every single day. If you haven't been through it appreciate your privilege- I don't think normal people have any business telling anybody else jack shit.
This is me. I’m very interested in becoming a Life Coach (of course I need to get my life in order first) but all the points you made- 99% me. But do you think having an accreditation a must? As I know all the certifications are quite costly and I’m not at the point where I can afford this right now. What are the alternatives as I really want to kick start this but feel stuck coz I can’t afford to start.. I know it’s my true calling.

I have a masters in social work. I am currently an intern, and working on becoming a licensed therapist within the next months. I have been providing therapy since 2016 working with all populations. I am interested in becoming a life coach. Is all I need is a LLC and coaching insurance to start my own life coach business?
Hi Maggie! That’s great that you’re interested in starting a coaching business! Yes an LLC and business insurance is a must in addition I would recommend going through an ICF accredited coach training program. I’ve had many coaching students that also have therapy and social work backgrounds that have gone through our training give feedback on how different coaching skills are from the other professions. All that I have heard so far has made me realize what it's all about to be a great life coach. It resonated with me a lot. The fact that I need to get probono clients, and not charge at first, makes sooo much sense. Definitely a shift in perspective for this business and more understanding what one will get themselves into.

Where do you get ICF coaching online? I searched this online and I was honestly was so confused and unsure of what are actual credible programs. I went to get a MS degree in marriage and family therapy and took about 50 credits. I broke my spine and was unable to continue taking these classes, the university discriminated against me and now I am stuck having to transfer and redo my entire 3.5 yr education when I was 12 credits from graduation. I also had long haul covid with shingles for a year before I broke my spine and was discriminated because of that too. There internship coordinator was discriminatory giving me list in 8 pinch font when I am legally blind with correctable vision. I kept saying I can’t see this please give me the list in 12 pinch font. They complained and didn’t accommodate me at all. I had testing accommodations too and they violated NYS law with testing too. I am wondering if you can email me your contact information. I need to find out where I can get ICF training where I don’t get screwed again. If I transfer my credits I be redoing my entire education and I am so frustrated right now. MFT required astronomical hours 6,000 hrs 3,000 unpaid and 3,000 paid and they didn’t help you find internships at all. They just screwed over students. There was a student who got caught watching pornography during class and he was not kicked out of school too. They refused to named the student to me too when I asked and I found this troubling and scary bc I was taking night classes in a back brace too. Yet they tell me that I can’t continue there bc I broke my spine too and repeatedly discriminated against me. That student was not even expelled he did it during an in person class that I was not in so I didn’t know who did it but the rest of the students knew and I was not privy to the information. I felt so disgusted and I was wearing a back brace during night classes and they refused to tell me the student so I could be aware and protect myself by avoiding them. I didn’t feel safe the campus was not in the nicest area either. There online classes during Covid were horrible too and I paid for an education from Hofstra and got nothing in return but student loans for a non viable education that they wouldn’t let me even finish. I was discriminated against for severe medical emergency but they kept a student who watched porn while being in a in person class.
Do clients dig beyond saying, “I’m certified.” Im not a coach but I don’t ask the nurse, accountant or whatever, what specific place they received their certification from. Again, I’m no coach but I just don’t see “where” you got the certification from. It’s interesting either way. The surgeon analogy isn’t correct as it’s her skill set not her school…at least that’s how I understand this.
Yep! I’ve had many clients and their partners over the years ask where I got my training from, asked to see my credentials certificate and asked if I was associated with the ICF 😊

I have completed Icf Acc level 1 life coaching certification.With that i want to market myself in specific niche. I love to help people to follow their passion and purpose so that they live a happy fulfilled life ..dont know in which niche it comes..Please make video on that maam..or reply ..
Yes great question! I also recommended new coaches to start coaching as many people as they can and you’ll start to notice certain topics that light you up. From there you’re niche will start to develop and find you!
I walked through a lot.. and what I have walked through was not just for me..im a top ranking advisor. Was hoping to help people with their purpose but most only wanna know about love in that field and not wanting to grow..not many..im a mom to many, raised my kids, was a sahm for 30 yrs.. i need to go next level ..to this.. i tried and stopped but need to try again..its time
Thank you so much for this! I've been frozen into total immobilization since certification because I have been unable to conjure up my particular, specific niche. Everything has told me that if I start with the wrong niche, I'll crash and burn and destroy everything! Of course, everyone who was saying that was probably selling a program that would help me solve it, conveniently... Lol. Point being, that "Doesn't that feel better?" sigh of relief totally matched with what my soul was doing right that very second, too.
Im glad this video helped! I had to try on so many niches over the years to get to the one I have now 😂 It’s ok to try things in your business and find what works and what doesn’t…as long as you pick yourself up and keep going ❤
No real "Honest" Monk of character does things like this, he just gives them a bad name. And when people see or hear from monks going forward, what will they make of them, can they be trusted again?
