I'm thoroughly enjoying the playthrough. Here's some unsolicited advice 🙄 . No spoilers, just game mechanics. Apologies if you've realized this stuff in the interim. Level is very important. You do more damage to and take less damage from an enemy at a lower level and vice versa. Any enemy more than 2 levels above you will be very tough. Mission level indicates the level of the enemies you might face. If the mission level is L, then you can expect enemies in the range L-1 through L+2. Ememies in the area around a mission will broadly reflect the mission level. The game expects you to do side missions. They often have very useful rewards. As a rule of thumb, do missions in their level order. Use weapons at the highest level you can find. A great gun from a few levels ago will quickly be outclassed by weapons at the higher level. Try to avoid having a "favourite weapon". It will quite quickly be superceded. Higher quality weapons (orange, purple, blue) will last longer. Some Legendary (orange) weapons may last for 10 of more levels. I'm not sure if you've realised you can buy ammunition "Storage Deck Upgrades" (SDUs) that allow you to carry more of a particular ammo type. They're at the end of the list in the ammo vendors. I was happy to be a part of the original forums, so many great people and memories. We used to set challenges for each other, one was the God King challenge. You had to max all your equipment and get the GK to Level 1150.
I'm glad you started the BL franchise with the original. So many folk start wiwth BL2. There is a "simplicity" about BL1, which is satisfying in itself. You'll enjoy BL2 even more. Good luck.
I kind of wonder if it's going to be similar to Dead Island 1 and 2 where are the areas you have to be in are big enough for you to explore most of it but it's set parts of the map and as you progress you load into different areas but you can go back to the area you made it out of defined resources ans secrets.
To be really frank, I've never imagined why or how this game would be open-world, just didn't make sense for me. I am expecting a good suspense game with dinosaurs more or less like Alien: Isolation
I really hope it’s like alien isolation, I don’t mind it not being open world. If it has “open” areas that you can explore a bit and have set encounters like alien isolation then it would be so good. I do hope the Dino’s look more realistic, and seeing the recent screenshots it does look good!
The website doesn’t call it a fully realized Jurassic park game but a fully realized Isla Nublar. That gives me hope I can freely traverse the park as I always have wanted too. This is the one ip where I have wanted to freely roam my whole life and I hope I can with this game
I was hoping for a tight Resident Evil 7- type experience over some dull, plodding crafting ARK, but in Jurassic Park grind. More a Dino Crisis. Plus, I get everyone loves Jeff Goldblum. Why did they just make a female version? THAT uh, is Chaos Theory.
I think open world will be way too much on a game like this anyway, I think a little open exploration in a closed map would be fine in small chunks but roaming like Elder Scrolls for example would be too much
Yeah this is intensely dissapointing to me, the sprite art, especially with spells was half the charm to me. The new look really just.... doesn't look good in comparisson from what i've seen. But that's one thing, removing the choise of relics,. It's like they're actively trying to streamline this into something more generic
The only thing I can imagine with the relics is that they were hoping that people would play with a wider range of them during the demo with the choice system. Then, they had better odds that people could report a wider array of bugs?? Idk that’s just a benefit-of-the-doubt thing for me.
If there's something I hope for it's that they more closely capture the horror put forward in the book. Seems like they might be going for it with the little footage we do have right now, but we'll get a clearer picture with the next trailer.
I don't actually want it to be truly open world. Open world games end up lacking detail in large amounts of areas or at least feel empty. I hope its a fps metroidvania like Alien was or even Metroid Prime, but where things can be randomized as you go back and forth (a dino in your path that wasn't there before and isn't scripted for example) to keep things fresh and stick to the ideas of chaos.
I legit thought that was Harry Potter in the thumbnail and started thinking, "Ooh, did they finally make the Jurassic Park/Harry Potter crossover we've all been waiting for?"
A jurassic horror, I just want to be scared of these Dino again, oh and maybe a accurate map so when ppl make jurassic park in a game where it's possible, it can be more accurate
I agree that calling it WOL 2 is a bit odd. It is very much like a reimagining of the game, So something along the lines of ' WOL: Retold ' seems more fitting
I want an alien isolation experience. I doubt itll be an open world where dinosaurs just show up wherever (could be wrong) but i enjoyed Isolation so much i played it twice and it kept me on my toes.
Open world game? Fuck no! 90% of open world names are vapid, empty, fetchquest-riddled snorefests with 300 copy/pasted duplicates of the same three or four mission types tricking you into thinking the devs bothered to add any substance. I've me A Jurassic Park game on par with Alien Isolation and I'll be bricked up from here til the day of release!
I think this game will play more like alien isolation and based on the info they’ve given already we will get to see areas of the park we were meant to see in the movie had the power not gone out and the dinosaurs escaped
What do you think about the so said remade infinity blade 1 on pc, is it a virus or something? I want to play this series again so much and it is so stressful to not be able to T_T
Please tell me how you played this on PC, I only ever got to play the demo on my fathers really old iPad that unfortunately no longer works, I'd love to play this again, I loved it so much. Edit: I really hope I didn't sound rude at all or anything, I'm just very excited to see this game and know it's playable in modern times. Very detailed video though! I absolutely don’t want an open world game and never thought it would be. Jurassic park is about storytelling. I want a story driven narrative and definitely not a sandbox and that seemed obvious from the beginning.
I want it to be Alien Isolation style, where once you get to a certain point, you can backtrack to different locations you’ve already visited to access areas you couldn’t upon initial exploration, like you got a keycard for a door or a tool to open a hatch you couldn’t open before
If this game is open-world, I won't even bother. Developers ALWAYS go cheap on the writing when they go this route, I'm not a fan. Give me a linear experience with a captivating story any day over that $#!T.
I think there are times that open-world games can and do have pretty rich stories (like Elden Ring and even GTAV) but I agree in this case. Give us a tight-ish narrative and totally deliver on the story and Saber Interactive will have a winner.
Yeah, people are expecting too much freedom. If I get to explore the park a little more than Lego Jurassic World and with a bit more realism and dino interactions I'm fine tbh. (I'm a JP fan)
I can’t imagine they would build up the park so close to the OG movie’s timeline and not let us see everything throughout the story. I feel like that would be such easy fan service🤷♂️
I think its gonna be more like that game where you go between characters exploring a lake. One of the characters finds bodies on the bottom of the lake and there is some kind of a creature roaming in the shadows. Does anybody know what game I'm talking about? Don't remember the name of it though. It was a decision based game and I feel like that's what this will be
Hmmm the two that come to mind are Until Dawn and The Quarry, but I'm not sure if that's what you're talking about. A decision-based survival game would be sick!!

That would be dope. You could even have like...a rogue-lite element where you could upgrade your gear (like better flashlights or upgrading tech across the map) for each time you set out to a different part of the map.
