Alex is a PhD candidate in Literature, Theory, and Cultural Studies at Purdue University, where she also holds a certificate in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Her research considers how multiethnic women writers employ gothic tropes to narrate their experiences within Anglo-American culture in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. She has presented at meetings of the International Gothic Association, the American Literature Association, and the Modern Language Association and published work in the Journal of Jewish Identities, Science Fiction Film and Television, and Modern Fiction Studies (forthcoming).
