Fellow hobbyist for the past 17 years. These last years my heart has been stolen by the Red Texas Cichlid. I have and do keep CA/SA cichlids, Flowerhorns and other monsters as well.
Im here to help share what I have learned so that you can enjoy the most of your fish and this hobby.
I Love to help connect people with breeders to get access to fish they used to only dream of and will have some for sale as well from time to time.

I’m a breeder in Wisconsin and I’m getting people outside the US who want my fish. I have a guy out of Canada who asked me about shipping him fish. Would I be able to go through Julie to ship the fish to Canada? It’s my first time shipping in general so there’s a lot to learn and I’m doing my homework on it all. I want to see what the best way to do this would be… me get the licensing to export/import or if I could go through a middle man person such as Julie to help out. Thank you!
😊 Very Interesting, I tired to mate a Green Texas(female) w/Red Texas(male). Slow death to the Red Texas, The Green Texas puck All the scales off Red... had to separate. Will try again, in 6months
What's going on man? Where were you getting all of the red Texas from? I'm unexpectedly breeding a golden base carpintis with a red mammon. Not trying to inbreed
Hello you are the 3rd person with super reds and I love them since the first day I saw them my question is do you sell any of the super reds that are not your show fish
I though the fin was used for the sirplane to fly but lets get this straight the straight griffin ears at hunters moon was changed to a sharks fin on the head of the straight bar yesterday what was that all about?
Yes Eheim heaters are my favorite...I had one that i used for a pond, even though the water would evaporate with time my heater would work even though half of the heater would stick out at times..I would never recommend letting a heater stick out not being fully submerged but it does happen to people ...The heater is a champ,it never broke..hands down Eheim is top notch..I still own the heater ..I will only buy Eheim..no joke..and they arent even that expensive...
I just dove into the Red Texas pool today. Ive been keeping fish ( all types fresh ) for about 45 yrs now. Ive been building plywood aquariums for the past 8 yrs or so. I have a 450g tank with community Southies and a 300g with semi/agressive South and Centrals that got a Red Texas added today. I watched your video, hoping to learn about when red would appear. The fish is about 2 3/4" and a grayish color. It has some pearling, evenly spaced throughout body and fins. No signs of dark or red yet. However, today is 1st day in tank, so its still settling. It has a great appetite already. Its with 3"-5" Cuban and Vieja and GT and Jack Dempseys and Firemouths and Salvini and Convict with 60+ fry. So, its busy in the 300g right now. Ive watched several of your videos and sub'd.. I ask if you could share any insight and sub me and check out my builds. Thanks in advance.
I am very interested in getting fish from another country. Is Julie from California really anal about the types of fish I want. I have two breeders sent to me but I haven't had some fish I really want.
I have a 125 gal cichlid tank. I wish I could add pics to show my set up. I know prob no one will believe it, but I also have super aggressive and semi aggressive cichlids all living together. One, for example is a flowerhorn and you'd never know that they should NOT be housed with other fish. My flowerhorn is super friendly and passive. I'm not a 100% why it works out for me but my tank is very peaceful and they all get along perfectly fine. I just make sure that the tank is overstocked with tons of obstacles as you stated, as well as enough hiding spots. I always give plenty of food for all, so that way none of them are grouchy from not having their fair share of food. I have also added what is considered dither fish " around 6 Rosy Barbs" they are middle swimming fish and always school together. This helps distract the aggressive cichlids for some reason. I also I have 6 cory cats which swim the bottom of the tank. They also help. None of the cichlids bother them. The fish all breed successfully and none of the babies are eaten ...to my knowledge anyway lol. Also if I ever add more cichlids, I never add only one new guy... it's always at least 3 or 4 newbies at a time. That helps to distract them from new fish being added. They don't realize who's new this way, or they can't just single out one, which helps the fish if it does get bullied to get away and relax. Instead of just one single fish getting bullied to death. I also have had all of the super aggressive guys raised in the tank since they were very tiny babies, practically fry. So they are all used to living in their community aquarium. This is just what worked for me so far! Now I say so far because hey you never know with these aggressive guys, one day they might just snap and what has worked in the past, won't work later especially with my flowerhorn. Honestly I'm amazed at how well behaved it is. The flowerhorn is actually one of my friendliest cichlids. What are the odds of that lol! The flowerhorn even enjoys being hand fed and pet. All I can say is if you plan to try this scenario be sure you have a back up tank because 9x out if 10 you can not house flowerhorns with any other fish but it is possible. And for sure DO NOT TRY TO ADD AN ADULT, only babies 2 inches and under. Good luck everyone! Also I love you video thanks for uploading it and proving that it can be done! Also sorry for the long comment lol
Silks are primarily created using ZZ bloood which means most males are fertile. A good way to guess is if it has red eyes then highly likelihood of fertility.
heard same as flowerhorn hard to get fertile male and female to lay eggs. would carpintis be the way to go with with a parrot or carpintis with flowerhorn. what you think is easiest
I like your video a lot want to know more and see more can you tell me about super red monkey I guess everything about it and I hope you have a good life and happy over here it’s good to hear from you again I hope hear from you A lot more thank you for your time
