2k clear = game changer for all the DIY crowd... I'm curious how 2k clear vs. the Megauires clear for headlights works? There's that headlight restorer guy on here that uses Megs almost exclusively.... I did my girls bmw lights and a year later they're still going strong even parked outside in the sw sun! Thanks for the tips on the button/gasket removal... I am going with sanding, primer, then base coat, then that 2k clear...praying it will look good for atleast a few years... I may even see if I can get some Xpel to cover the handle part eventually
@@modifiedwaystattoo5022 Here is the video of him stating specifically to NOT use 2k clear: watch?v=Xc1QVKFAmyQ - Or search YT for: " 2K CLEAR Headlight Restoration - WTF - why? " It's on a G37....
Yea, it's pretty scary to do but if you follow how it's done, it shouldn't be a problem. Good luck! Plan on it being a whole day of work so you can take your time. :D
probably - but - thing is - I don't want to buy a second set of handles while I wait forever for a shop to do them... everything changed since the cervesa sickness - everywhere is months out... people refuse to do quality work unless it's their own personal vehicle... and we live in a small town where people would rather do drugs/alcohol than show up for work... and we don't have a second/spare oven... So I'll go with sand, primer, light sand, base coat, light sand, alcohol wipe, then clear...and then let them sit on the car a few months, then go with some xpel ppf... That should do the trick...
