Congratulations on doing this, I did rim-to-rim on 10/5/2023. I've decided to begin training for Rim-to-Rim-to-Rim sometime next October. I plan to do slow and steady like you!
I just don't know if you runners can fully appreciate the great inspiration that is this grandest of canyons. I know you did in your own way ... and I truly appreciate your trail running ability ... but I think the canyon is much more inspirational taking it slower. Hiking, rafting and camping
I've hiked it as well and honestly, I get just as much from running, if not more, than i do from hiking. The key is to do it the way YOU want to do it...and enjoy it to the fullest. There is no wrong way to do it...well, unless you don't make it back out. lol
Hey guys, I would have loved to have shared the audio from the camera, however it was all wind noise. I now have a Go Pro with an external mic that I'll be attaching to the rear of the Bullitt. Stay tuned!
@@EdgeOfNowhere2024 not in june bro, we have a winter like between november and april here, but its nothing as it was like 15 or more years ago, now we usually have like half year autumn with 2 weeks of snow in the best conditions, unless you go mountains or something :)
Stay in your state... don't come to this liberal state of cowardolo...a liberal state with a queer governor and his first man... Stay away..stay safe.. don't believe the false news that this state is heaven... Corruption... corruption.. corruption.. don't travel alone..if you do.. you will be stopped on a road..lonley road... No witnesses... just you... don't drive alone.. The state is corrupt!!!
I saw this a few months ago on my bronco and looked up what it was used for. I thought it was a cooler but nothing says anything about it. Why don’t they call it a cooler? They just says it’s a storage compartment.
I use it as a cooler all the time. As an ultra runner and a fisherman up in the mountains, it's a very convenient way to keep my supplies cold. When I get home, I simply pull the drain plug and I'm ready for the next day.
Looks good. Recording at 720 or 1080? Framerate looks a little low, but that may keep the file size low. Congrats, I may go this weekend to a trail to try again.
I had them powder coated with a custom color. They are done in Badlands Orange. I asked the powder coating company to match that color as close as they could. After several mixes, they knocked it out of the park. They also powder coated the brake calipers in the same color.
Awesome work! I just did SK to Cottonwood and back to the top via BA. Total about 32 miles. I too want to do this solo. How many hours did it take you? And why did you decide to start from BA and not SK?
13 1/2 hours. I started and finished BA because logistically it was easier. It was nice parking right at the trailhead and having my car there when I finished. Wishing you the best!
Thanks for the kind words. Yes, I did get the 2.7. I'm high up in the mountains and above 10, 000' often and wanted all the horsepower I could get. :) I'm planning an epic road trip after retirement and will visit 10 National Parks. Then enjoy a little time off and a seasonal job as a Pikes Peak Ranger. Life is good!
@@bullitt4930 Wow very cool indeed! From Norther CA. Sierras but moved to Maine. Can't wait this summer to take the dogs to Arcadia! Oh if ever out in CA. Near Tahoe look up "Lakes Basin" in Plumas Country it's like a little Yosemite. Very cool stuff all snow fed lakes ( sardine lake, salmon lake, gold lake, ) hiking more than 4wheelin, but tons of trails and hardly anyone but great places to eat when your there ( iron door, Lucia's, lodge at sardine lake) Just something for you too check out. Again happy for you and always thankful 😎👍 .
That's awesome! Just visited your channel...and subscribed. I"m on Facebook a bit more than here... ( facebook.com/stephen.peterson.5 ) Currently planning a fun Road Trip with the Bronco...National Parks of the Grand Circle. Plan on doing some running at the Grand Canyon again. Thanks for commenting...enjoy 2023!!!
Thanks brother and thank you for your service. I spent a lot of time at Vandenberg, assuming you might have been there yourself. Finished my career out at the Air Force Academy and stayed right here in Colorado Springs. Where did you retire to?
My dealer ordered them through Ford before my Bronco came in and they put them on when it was brand new. You can also order directly from Ford here: accessories.ford.com/products/bronco-2021-w-rock-rails-gatorback-bucking-bronco-logo-front-splash-guard-pair-1
Thanks for the review! Great job personalizing your Bronco. I just picked mine up and was wondering if running without the windows creates a vacuum affect and sucks the dust in like my Razor does. Enjoy your retirement!
Based on my experience, it's not really that bad. Then again, I'm up in the mountains most of the time on the trails and they aren't that dusty/sandy. Being in the military for many years,, maybe I just don't notice it much because I've eaten a lot of dust and dirt over the years. lol The nice thing is that most of it blows out when you get back on the highway! :)
I actually use a YETI Tundra Haul in my Bronco, it fits perfectly inside the tailgate with 1.5" of clearance between the top of the cooler and the soft top's lateral strut. It also fits snug against the back of the rear passenger seats with a comfortable amount of space between the handle/wheels and the tailgate.
I will use other coolers I have when on longer trips, but this works perfectly for me when I'm running mountain trails and fishing. So convenient for day use and I just pull the drain plug when I'm finished.
