I think the party was reading into Molly still being in there in a much more intense way than intended by Matt- the reading was very intense and relevant to Lucian’s goals and plans and possible failure. His reaction was reasonable even without Molly influencing him.
I've come back to this so many times and every time the cut from their hands on the floor to their hands clasped together hits me right in the chest. The feeling it captures is just so perfectly them and it's illustrated so well 💜
Odysseus: "I'm going to go knock on this wind deity's door and ask for help!" Eurylochus: "Um, captain, maybe have some caution? We did just piss off a powerful being rather significantly by intruding into his home carelessly (and then you concluded that interaction by being hubristically smart-mouthed about harming him). And well, a WIND GOD might just be connected to the storm we're trapped by... You know the gods are kind of, uh, temperamental?" Odysseus, who has spent the last decade-plus with Athena in his head (and just fucked up that relationship) and also had a rather aggravating chat with Zeus: "Bro, are you *doubting* me now? You think I can't talk to a god without pissing them off?" Eurylochus, mentally: "Captain, bro, you are literally named 'ANGER BRINGER', so with all due respect, the possibility had entered my mind, yes..."
Aaah, I love the connection between Odysseus and his men here. Ody sees Eurylochus with the wind bag and realizes there are still people to save. The 180 from trauma to "all I gotta do is open this bag 😝" always bothered me before, but this helps it make sense.
Always like seeing how people picture Poseidon’s moment of clarity It’s always interesting to see how people show his second of realizing “is this something I need to do?”
I'm so glad to find a full version that kept the original "you could be caught off guard" bit. I was so surprised that they changed it in the official release...
So the cut part is „end up“ not the whole caught off guard. I for one find the line too long and with the cut it fits better into the rhyme scheme. It makes it so that both the first and second verse have eleven syllables instead of the first having 2 more then the second. The „end up“ also doesn’t provide more context, than what was already said.
This is really good! Thinking about the 'you're like a brother' lyric, just found out apparently Eurylochus was actually married to Odysseus' little sister Ctimene so they are brothers-in-law
Thank you so much!! 🤗 I’d love to do all the songs (currently working on Circe’s) but I’m away from my drawing equipment for the next few weeks cos of work 😣
i love how you portray some of his men pulling odysseus back and then he thinks and collects himself that was beautiful i’m going to imagine it like this whenever i hear the song now
This was so good!!! Odysseus trying to throw himself to help his men and the others having to pull him away was so great, really painful, his expression shows how shocked and broken he was feeling, I absolutely love it. I also really like Poseidon's expression.
I'm so glad I found this! This song is amazing and it's sad there isn't more animatics for it. You made them look so genuine, they're both so worried for each other, it's really good.
[EURYLOCHUS] Please don't tell me you're about to do what I think you'll do [ODYSSEUS] You've heard the legends of the island in the sky, this proves they're true We're in the home of the wind god [EURYLOCHUS] We don't know for sure [ODYSSEUS] How many floating islands have you seen before? This is the home of the wind god [EURYLOCHUS] And what's your plan? [ODYSSEUS] I'm gonna climb to the top and ask 'em for a hand [EURYLOCHUS] You could be caught off guard and lose and end up losing your life your life Or piss off this god and infuse us with strife Don't forget how dangerous the gods are Have faith friend we have come this far, Yes But, How much longer till your luck runs out? How much longer till the show goes south? How much longer till we all fall down? You rely on wit, and people die on it, woah [ODYSSEUS] I still believe in goodness I still believe that we could be kind Lead from the heart, and see what starts [EURYLOCHUS] And what will we do when it tears us apart? [ODYSSEUS] Where is this coming from, my friend? [EURYLOCHUS] I just don't wanna see another life end You're like the brother I could never do without [ODYSSEUS] Yet suddenly you doubt that I could figure this out? [EURYLOCHUS & CREW] Captain, how much longer til your luck runs out? How much longer til the show goes south? How much longer til we all fall down? You rely on wit, and people die on it, woah How much longer til your great days cease? How much longer til the snake breaks free? How much longer til your strength takes leave? You rely on wit, and people die on it, woah [ODYSSEUS] Thank you for the concern but brother I can assure you Our journey is almost done I understand that we're tired I understand that we're fazed But don't forget how much we've already faced I took 600 men to war and not one of them died there In case you needed a reminder If you'd like to speak more, let me pull you aside then I need to talk to you in private I can't have you planting seeds of doubt I can't have you disagreeing each route I need you to always be devout and comply with this Or we'll all die in this Okay? [EURYLOCHUS, spoken] Okay [ODYSSEUS, spoken] Thank you
I keep coming back to this animatic and that look Odysseus gives Eurylochous when he fully realizes he doesn't trust him 1:29 just hits my heart so much
Your art is so beautiful, and you captured the depth of their emotions and expressions so well! I love how you show them being there for each other through their trials and turmoil, and at the end when they go into Aeor... love these two!
