One thing that I think will play a huge role is that a fumble punishment shouldn't be as severe. It seemed like alot of people played to not make mistakes rather than to make plays. If players know that they won't go into a 4 game doghouse I think it will allow them to more care free, so to speak.
Definitely agree. Obviously ball security is important, but for a player to miss extended time, at least based on what we’ve seen previously, felt a little excessive. Guys need the opportunity to try and redeem themselves, and there are situations where their absence due to the punishment ended up hurting the team. At the same time, guys who repeatedly can’t hold onto the football would certainly be a different story and would need to be dealt with accordingly. But definitely agree, and it’s hard not to be curious to see how that ultimately plays out under this new coaching staff.
Taylor is a great guest! Good show. I'm concerned with the LT situation. Wallace seems like a nice enough prospect if a bit naive. Okorafor has been competent as a RT but seems to be much more realistic to the challenge of flipping to the LT position. I do think it will work out for both but it will take at least a third of the season. I do not want Maye going in until Oko or Wallace get reasonably comfortable with their new position. Better to put in Zappe or Milton in if he does.
New England has one of the most powerful people as owner and he is a very approachable person when it comes to the people in His circle. Having the opportunity to network with Robert Kraft and all the people he knows is a damn good reason for a player to be able to Excel on and off the field....LETS GOOOOOO !
I think that the Pats will draft a LT in the first round next season. I'm hoping that they win at least 5 games this season. I hope that the fan base and 98.5 FM are patient and reasonable with Mayo in his first season as head coach. I hope that Brissett survives the season while Maye studies. Maybe bring in Maye during the second halves of the late season games. Maybe have Maye begin his second halve training during the Wk. 13. That will give him and his coaching an extra week to study.
I want them to trade down get an extra 1st next year and additional picks this year 2nd and thirds. Take a great lineman with that 1st pick. Draft Pentz with the 2nd round pick make sure you get him even if you have to move up in the end of the 1st. Then trade your 2nd round pick for a veteran stud WR. I am also open to dealing the 3rd pick overall for a Stud WR and picks but get me a great lineman and QB in this draft. I would stockpile great lineman in the 1st two rounds. Pentz is the guy I like he is an all or nothing guy and I am all about Risk vs Reward.
Obviously, they ended up taking Maye at #3 but the possibility of trading for a veteran WR, whether it's Aiyuk or another player, still seems to be on the table. We'll see heading into tonight if that happens, but also agree with you that stocking linemen after that - especially tackles - is definitely going to be important.
Enjoyed the podcast gents. Im not sure what they should do but it all needs to focus on next year. Play the young guys and see who'll be able to contribute next year and if you know you aren't bringing a FA back (Uche? Onwenu? Dugger?) then get what you can.
There's going to be injuries but at least they have the best of the best of support staff and doctors there. It's football and it's not nearly as physical as it was . Hoping for best of every player but let's not keep tinkering with the sport
3-1 after the first 4 games? You've taken "homerism" and "drinking the Kool-aid" to a whole new level. Talk about setting everyone for a disappointing start to the season. If we're lucky enough to start at 2-2 I'd be thrilled. Betting 1-3 is more realistic, and we'll still end up making the playoffs!
This ain’t the chad Pennington jets Rob salahs a good young coach defensive minded defenses win chips n he now has a qb to game manage the offense plus this guy is a baller if he finds that devante adams connection w garret wilson it’s over w
They'll be competitive, but the key is going to be whether or not they face any adversity and whether or not he starts throwing coaches under the bus the way he did in Green Bay. Rodgers isn't big on accountability, and that could potentially be the thing that complicates things. Saleh already has a QB on his team like that and that's why Rodgers is even here. But having the guy mentoring him acting that way won't help things and it could be what holds them back, with Rodgers likely passing blame elsewhere if it does.
Arodg was back to back mvp until last season this guy is dynamite n absolute problem best about in the afc east. It’s just a question of chemistry he is a prick but he’s a guys guy if u watch him on pat macafee he’s a complete bro thinks for himself, no apologies. He could play 4 more years tbh but those years depend on the success the jets have. Rodgers will win a lambo in NY in the nxt 3 years
Jets got the best of that deal. They still get a 1st and a 2nd. It's a gamble but I think it will be worth the gamble. It could go south but I like this deal for the Jets.
Correct take but it won't be Seattle coming up for Bijan, they got Kenneth Walker III last year in the 2nd round and he's a monster. Tampa makes sense, so does Washington at 16 and the Chargers at 21. ...Dallas at 24...
Jonnu Smith Didn't Fit with A Belichick Style offense ! Jonnu Smith's Lack of Production Can't fall Back on Matt Patricia, Because Jonnu Smith couldn't get it together under Josh McDaniels during The 2021-22 Season!
I don't know about last. I do think they'll be competitive and there are still some additional moves they can make in the coming months both in free agency and the draft, as well as a potential trade or post-June 1 cut/training camp additions. Still a long way to go, and I think by August we might have a little better feel for where they're at. Can't make that sort of prediction accurately in March. Way too much could happen between now and then.
Mac 10 is the franchise quarterback of the Patriots and the Patriots don't want him I can already think of a team... raiders that would love to have him and then he can prove to all the haters out there and all these fickle Patriots fans that he is Mac F'N Jones ba ba!
they keep overpaying bad players. they overpaid Godchaux, and just extended him. hes not a good player, period, they overpaid their punter that lost them at least 1 game last year. they have no idea what they are doing. the Patriots have the highest paid WR corps. yet they are probably one of the worst 5 receiving corps in the league
the way I look at it, you can find great linebackers past the first, and most first round off ball lbs have not panned out well, two for the cards, one for seahawks, one for steelers, and probably more. they rarely pan out. you need an offball ILB that can cover AND rush the passer to be worthy of that 1st round pick. 2nd 3rd or later can be just as good. also past the first couple OTs you wont get much out of first round and a guard in the first is just a waste of draft capital. ideally, you have a top WR drop to you at 21 or one of the top pass rushers. same thing with corner past the top 2 or 3 the rest are just projections
As a Patriots fan, I would like to thank you all for an incredibly entertaining and information video. 👍👌👏👍 Please keep churning out more of this great content. 🙏🙏🙏
