I REMEMBER you from 2016 bbc intucucing i loved this song straight away. Homeless as that time listern to bbc interesting. THIS SONG CAPTURED MY HEART ❤ AT THAT TIME & IT STILL DOES .
After this performance the band did a second encore of on top of the world I don't suppose you still have footage? This absolute song has been my fave James moment so far. Much Love!
Incredible performance by Steve and the band. Love the bit where Steve’s mic lead comes out just before his solo 🤣 still manages to pull it off and play a killer solo 👏🏻👏🏻
Can't disagree with that. Sure it captures Jamie & Alison doing their fabulous thing pretty well. But you don't get any sense of the energy emanating from the audience from the heads crammed in down the front visible from my viewpoint on the balcony. Every song from the career spanning set being greeted with a massive roar from the capacity crowd; from 2003's Kissy Kissy to the live debut of Love and Tenderness from God Games. It was an immense gig!
As I understand it the live debuts at the Pryzm show were Wasterpiece (set opener), Love and Tenderness, LA Hex and Better Days. They didn't play Bullet Sound. I recorded the start of Wasterland but somebody fell on us (!) so I stopped filming. They also played New York and 103 from God Games.
Thanks for sharing so many great videos over the years. If you find any more footage of Florence + The Machine from Kensington Gardens 2008-06-21 can you please upload it? Quality really doesn't matter for such rare historic footage. Thank you!
Was just telling someone about this gig and thought I’d look for footage. Probably the best gig I’ve ever been to. Managed to blag a photo pass as well and can just about spot myself at the front 😂
I'm a long-time fan, and bought Horses back in the '70s. Then I searched out Rimbaud's book of poems too. At that time, I lived in the Village. And many years later I saw you in a brightly lite cafe, probably writing in your notebook. So happy to now see your creative evolution via Substack. You always stretch my vision of creativity. Thank you. 3:19
thank you Patti - you had life and hope to what otherwise sounds too much like doom in our world today - i am so grateful I discovered your substack as I have all your books always out on one night-table or desk or the other waiting to reread or dip into ....happy April Fools Day to all Patti Smith lovers!
This is my favourite song, has been for years, and now, finding this version, is the best one I have heard. Beautiful gentle singing, harmonies are glorious.
