Welcome to my channel! I teach full-length watercolor tutorials as well as watercolor techniques. I love to paint birds, flowers, and other fun things. I hope you will come paint along with me!
I’m halfway thru this and can’t stand how much of your work is hidden either off camera or under the finished work. Why couldn’t you center your paper on camera?
I don’t remember! Probably because of the tight space maybe ! Pushing edge to the edge of the table? Thank you for painting! This tulip was a favorite!
Kathy, I am half way through and having so much fun! As always with your videos I feel like I am painting with a very good friend. I love how you make me laugh while I am learning new things. And your English is great! Some of my kids adopted from China have been home for 8 years and they struggle with some English. I don't think I would do nearly as well as you do if I had to learn Mandarin! You are great!!
Thank you so much! Those children are blessed! And I really feel like I am talking to friends when I film I am glad it came across that way! Thank you!
Your poppies look amazing, and your video is very easy to understand. I feel like I can do this one, so can’t wait to try this one. Thank you for sharing ❤ I may try it using lilies. I don’t have any photos of poppies.
Kathy, I am working on this painting with you here. However, I wanted to ask you (I put a comment on your blog, but you haven't seen it) if you have done a tutorial on the 'Lord of the Rings' painting that you have posted on your blog?
No I have not! You mean the one with Gandalf? Because it’s painting human, people tends to have a hard time! It takes a lot of working on drawing and human perspective! But I can think about maybe doing the green front door outside! I will think about it for a while! I hope you have fun with this!!! Thank you for reaching out! I need also to think not to step over copyright also!
This is so beautiful Kathy! Love your color choices! The cherry blossom is gorgeous too! Would love to see the tutorial! 😊💕 Thanks for teaching us how to watercolor! I appreciate you!
Don't worry about your English. I think it's wonderful to have second language. My college French is so bad, I'd never speak it out loud. Thanks for the tutorial and sharing.
Your paintings are very beautiful. I really do enjoy your videos. No worries on your English. Your English is very good. I have spoken English all my life and I still mess up. I just hope I can paint as beautiful as you
Hello the drawing is at my blog sunsetpeonies.com! Look for this post and scroll down to bottom! Many people had used that for two years now! Hope you have fun and it should be very easy to find!
Kathy, I wanted to respond about your husband saying you were being too advanced for your viewers. I have only been painting with watercolors for a couple of months and have tried many different tutorials. So many are perhaps a bit easier, but they don't teach as well as you do. I can follow your direction and get pretty good results even as a beginner, and I learn so much. I would rather choose a couple of very good teachers like yourself and push myself to learn harder things than learn bad techniques to begin with just to make it easier. I love your classes and will probably do every single class that you post. Thank you so much!
I always enjoy painting with you. I love your sweet voice, and your nice stories as you paint. I have many of Oriental Art Supply’s brushes plus I have some Paul Rubens Krue brushes for lose backgrounds. Unfortunately I was unable to get the brushes you were mentioning are now out of stock on Amazon, I did get the Happy Dot you recommended (on Amazon). Nice brush. I hope you are successful in getting those two brushes. I will surely purchase. For the “Forgetmenot” flower painting, I’m using the OAS Leaf/Vein brush, the Happy Dot, and the Zero (for the small details in flower center). I like the Zero brush to add very small Van Dyke Brown amounts on branches. For these branches, I’m using Payne’s Grey to give the appearance of shadows. I just purchased the Schmincke Perylene Green. I have the Daniel Smith Perylene Green. I like the half pans, however, I have many of the tube paints.
I just have to say, your gentleness of voice and story, makes me more gentle with myself when I'm watching, so thank you again. (this is my second tutorial of yours)
Thank you so much! One of my favorite! In my new video I showed a different style that’s harder hopefully able to do it one day! Maybe split into two videos
Loved painting along with you! I live in Colorado where it is also very dry and I have struggled with wet-on-wet method because my paper dries too fast. I like how you make the background soft without wet-on-wet. Your delicate paintings are so sweet and wonderful!
Love this little bear. I'm just a beginner but I'm going to try this. You give such great instruction! Live in the forest of Colorado so bears are frequent visitors in the neighborhood.
