Great video about a very interesting place I want to visit. However, when you can drive into a world famous historical gem in your own car, you just know that access has a higher priority than preservation. And those statues that had a road with polluting cars places in front of them... I am in shock!!! Cars and parking lots should have no place in a historical place like that. And if people find it hard to move around, set up those open e-cars you find elsewhere in the world.
Hi We are planning to visit the fort in Nov 2024. Can you suggest a reasonable good clean hotel near here? Thanks. Also does the Gurdwara have rooms to book and have hangar? Thanks so much Jaswinder Singh
Definitely a nice place. But the Lava Kusha story sounds made-up - likely to attract tourists. Lava Kusha were born in Valmiki ashram, which was located at the confluence of 3 rivers - Tamasa, Gandaki & Son. This should be somewhere in present day UP-Nepal. Also, this would be close to both Ayodhya (UP) & Mithila (Nepal). It doesn't make sense Sita maa came all the way south which was an unknown land far away from home, leaving the safety of the kingdoms of her husband and father. If you Google, you'll find places like Valmiki Tiger Reserve etc. near UP-Nepal border, which is where the ashram ought to be. Other issues: Agni Pariksha, which the guide mentioned, didn't happen in Valmiki ashram. Ashrams are generally not situated on top of hills hard to go up & down, far away from sources of water. If you pay attention to scriptures, ashrams have always been close to some body of water - river banks, sangam etc which was very important for daily rituals, consumption and bath.
We enjoyed the place and the story. BTW we have also done a video about Bithoor - where valmiki ashram is said to have been located. The location might be debatable but the story is real! :-)
I notice it's always groups of men dancing at these "clubs". Which club plays English/Western music -- like pop-- not EDM or trance music or whatever it's called. Just like American 80's music! I don't know ! : )
