Howdy folks , born and raised in Alabama , did 7 years in the Navy as an aviation machinists mate working on F-18 superhornets and legacies , currently living in WV , I'm a redneck , river rat , hillbilly who's been around the world a couple times , I love weapons of all kinds , cars and trucks , car audio and precious metals. I love fishing and shopping for freezer meat in the woods , along with most survival/Bushcraft activities. I love all the critters that most hate , bugs , snakes , and other creepy crawlies are a passion of mine , I'm a strange cookie that likes to have fun , let's get after it!
Looks to be a Cuban tree frog (they can change color, most often they’re tan, sometimes they’re olive green, & sometimes a Smokey black like the 1 you’re holding.)
@stephennguyen4286 I believe there's terminal cups on each side of the box so if I had a 2 channel then maybe one on each but who knows , been a while back
Use a fosi audio 2.1 amp made a ghetto boom box and it hits hard and so clean I have the BT30A amp. And made a jbL kind of speaker the party box one 6speaker 4 of them are just for mids and hi’s 2 are 6.5 Sony house subs the d.v.d 5.1subs… it hit hard and the bass is all the way down to -1 like at zero and it hits turn it up to 45% on bass max are I can pop both subs bit treble max valume max phone max and it is loud fosi audio look I. To them in little amp
@@danielcarter7657 their not as sloppy as the older generation? I heard someone said this newer versions were more musical? Reason why I’m asking is because I’m going from a single 15 in a sealed box and need more bass. Still debating if I should build a sealed box first and then ported if I decide I want more bass or go for the porter and then sealed when I decide I need my trunk space lol.
not a bad little dozer, the units supplied with a reverser, like this one, are not supposed to be reversed in low gear. only second and up. please consult you operators manual for proper operation.
That's just a prefab that can be purchased online I loosely based bigger boxes off that ones dimensions , I've made 3 triple boxes from good plywood and they get down
@danielcarter7657 Yeah, but it is a large prefab box, not like your basic MTX prefab in which I have a triple stack of punches in, in one is a box I cut in,half😂😂😂
Nice what db and at what hz do you do? Im about to recone my 2 15" xmaxxx and put them in my mazda 3 hatchback in a IB setup so that i can kill them 10/15hz low lows
Dang are those cheap. Back in my competition days, I had setups that ran over 10K. This one is like $300... Got out of this stuff because it's harder to build systems into cars now and needed to focus my head/money on other things. Tuning advice to help with the distortion, get a bigger amp, run it at 2 Ohm instead and turn the amp down to match the power capabilities of the sub. Way cleaner bass and less chance of blowing the sub by sending square waves when the amp is maxed out.
All car audio is much cheaper nowadays , it's still the same basics , you can have a decent bass system that is less than $300 if you wanted ... but like everything else the sky is the limit, lots of older dudes and chicks getting back into it nowadays , it's probably half my installs .....
I turn everything off and just make sure my amp is capable of the ohm load of the sub however I wired it up then I just adjust gain until it clips then turn it down a bit , you can get fancy with all the smd electronics to really tune it professionally but my main goal is to have a safe lasting system.... good solid connections, good copper wire , and making sure the paint gets sanded off to bare metal before trying to attach any grounds ..... if you cover the basics it'll work itself out , just recently built a 6th order box for a sundown monster of a sub , that thing slaps for a single 12
@@danielcarter7657 A good sub system was just part of the equation back in the day. Cool to see people are still into it. The car manufactures absolutely made it more challenging with how much stuff is integrated into the stereo now. I do miss being able to hit in the 140's with my daily driver.. lol. (No, I didn't run it at that level all the time) I have trophies for some of the systems I built in both DB dragging and SQ (not the same setup).
oh and it may be louder on AUX then bluetooth. so idk if you do AUX or bluetooth but AUX is louder. I use bluetooth bc its so much easier and i have all my gains set based on the bluetooth max.
I set it off mine , probably could've bumped it up for his but the sub needed broke in regardless, I'd rather be conservative rather than have the sub blow in the first week
Broke in? I full send my DC 7.5k on my DC XLs from the first few seconds. Break in changes the FS as parts soften up not the woofers ability to take power.
@Zachecker it's a customer's car ....... lol I advised the feller he'd want to start with a decent double din but he already had everything and he needed it bumping before he left for work the next day ..... quick and easy
WTF ARE WITH THESE COMMENTS @trooper_law1049 its ONE SKAR subwoofer its not competeing in a show. Im getting sick and tired of this hate when bass is so much different in person then it is when recording it, I record car audio on my channel super often the video does not do it justice!
@Zachecker these folks who have the most to say probably don't have a system, I've owned and installed a lot of different setups and this single 12 prefab slaps
Smh only clicked on video because the title made it seem like this skar prefab was actually going to surprise people on the 800w amp. You should atleast change the title to your video or do another video "from your phone" since the miniscule difference of playing music from the kids phone in video & your phone seems to make a godzilla amount of difference in spl. Btw lots of country, rock & metal out there with plenty of bass too. And I understand many people live within budgets & those budgets can very greatly. But this is literally one of the cheapest prefab bundles that skar offers. And for someone who seems to be wanting hard hitting bass or a system geared towards spl then it would've been better & cheaper in the long run to of spent just a bit more money & got something that would of filled the cabin of that CUV more to yours & the owners liking. The loaded dual svr12, or even a single sdr18 as more cone area will help alot in that vehicle. Oh well I think everyone who loves bass goes through buying a system & then it not being enough so they buy or build another setup. I've been there myself a time or three lol.
I explained to him that he'll probably want to upgrade in a month or so , but why you hating so hard ? Lemme see your current bass setup Mr. God of all things bass
This is just what he had purchased, I just hooked up the line output converter and fixed some of the wiring , nothing crazy but it is the best sounding system I've heard from a line output converter
Crazy how you're the God of all things bass yet you have no content while having the most to say , how old are you? You seem like you aren't old enough to buy cigarettes lol
so let me get this straight you clicked on this video expecting something else and you send a English paper as a comment? like i hate the suddle disrespect. SMH @itdoesntmatterwhatyourname6128 do better. and rebassed country, rock and metal MAYBE but hip hop is where the bass is at. you dont need an insane set up. and if your the king of bass you would know skar is not the best company for bass you would go with something more expensive like Deaf Bonce, sundown, american bass, timpano, SLAPZ audio, dd audio, resilient sounds, colossal sounds, dc audio, ct sounds, ntx, cerwin vega ect. DO BETTER
I filled mine with polyurethane (LePage PL) construction adhesive between all the cracks (even the speaker wire port) as I put it together and bought a few additional screws. I then sprayed the whole inside with a few coats of aerosol FlexSeal and used to to attach some better quality slightly thicker polyfill to all 6 sides of the box. I actually bought this little box just to tide me over until I finish building a custom fibreglass ported box, but it's quite a bit better than I was expecting; my passengers say it sounds more versatile than custom ported boxes (as in it's "designed" from a generalist approach for all types of music, rather than designed with just punchy hip hop music in mind) and they compare it to the flat stock ones you get with newer Nissan, Ford and Kia ones which I don't really consider a bad thing.
Again, like I said in my other comment, are you pushing enough watts? And this subs build for sealed slim boxes.. this isn’t necessarily a slim box.. they’re meant for more of a truck box, also they sell them in 2ohm setups as well and did you get this sub from sundown or amazon/ebay? Could be a rep or just setup wrong.
@@danielcarter7657 clipping occurs when the amps not pushing enough wattage, distorting is what happens when you push too much. Both will do the same thing but got different causes. If your clip light is on within a dial or on the amp then you don’t got enough rms which is under powering the sub or the amp. Need more rms it sounds like. It needs 600 rms. That’s a minimum
Cheers to home made beer we just subscribed after your video found us. We love to brew beer grow hops , make different meads and wines and others on our channel . Stay thirsty friend and make good beer.
I have airlocks for big batches but just doing individual beers quickly , I'd say I could add more sugar because the yeast definitely ate all 3 tablespoons that u added
