Some terrific photos and a great video, so thankyou very much for sharing. I also just watched your documentary on Hope Bourne, and what a great job you made of it - thankyou
Many thanks Chris for this video, I love all of your photography and treasure it, obviously you have a passion for these moments in peoples lifetime. I can tell by your offering to life that you are on a far superior wavelength to many well known powerful people.
The farming and the farmers are the single most important factor in preserving these areas, they’re the ones that understand it and have it bred in them, all the other authorities need to work around them and then the moors will survive happily.
Some years ago I watched a news report about James and I was immediately drawn to his locality and photography. I have his book Down the Deep Lanes and the images have inspired me greatly. It is a little disappointing that there is very little on You Tube of this great photographer.
I found this a fascinating documentary.... Thanks Chris..... Incidentally, I still have the Durst 805 colour head that I swapped with you for the equivalent condenser head !! That was many years ago !!
I was so sad to miss this at Green Arts ... and to be able to see it here is wonderful. It is such a powerful work of art and so much more powerful for being so deeply personal. I am deeply moved by our ancestry and how it affects us. Gladys's love for her family shines through in recounting their lives. The bravery of her Gt Grandfather and the courage of her grandmother to endure. I confess I often am lost with modern art exhibitions but this is so powerful and moving
tank you Chris for this beautiful documentary off my daughter. Of course i saw the exhibition in the Black Swan arts. Wen i saw te film for the first time i cried. It was so emotionel tfor me to see te costumes again . And te way she talked of the ffamily story is so beautiful. I now looked for the fourth time and stil full off emotions. Thank you again chriss and Gladys i'm so proud off you. Love you.
A deeply personal piece which is nevertheless mesmerizing, fascinating, moving and wonderfully creative on a broader human level. Amazing pieces, with a tactile and clear inter-relation to the (eye opening) family history. Congratulations Gladys, I look forward to seeing the pieces in person.
