They need to bring back suit powers. Those made the combat more enjoyable with flashy powers and cool gimmicks. Now it just feels bland... Like the Arkham combat.
This was so One Sided it's just plain Trash. The Whole game is focussed on Showing a Black Teen Destroying a Experienced White Dude. Not to Forget about Black, Challenged and Woman Equality with Mary Jane, Miles GF forced mission.. Don't tell me Sweet Baby Inc had something to do with it
they should've made it so the other villains were fine and sometimes you can fight them head on in the overworld like fighting rhino trough the city, battling electro, yada-yada
Some more ideas I’d like: Prisoner escape: I’ve seen this one get requested a lot, but it’s basically a small/medium Spider-Man villain escaping prison ans you need to stop him. Perhaps this could be a complex sort of event with multiple stages. First you race to the crime and save civilians from the havoc the villain is wreaking. Then, you’d fight the villain. You capture him and have to escort him back to the Raft. FEAST delivery: Perhaps due to some kind of traffic jam or construction, a FEAST delivery is running late. Since Peter and Miles both have a personal bond with the FEAST shelters, I think it would be a nice small accident for you to spend time on. FEAST volunteering: Quite a few FEAST volunteers have called in sick, so they ask you (Peter or Miles) if you want to help out. Once you’re there, you could do small tasks without wearing Spidey spandex. Maybe you can clean, help with cooking, bring people coffee, try and find someone’s lost item. If you want, you could perhaps even have some nice chats or play chess. Escort: Something like this was in the first game’s DLC. You’d help escort a police force or perhaps a prison transfer. But snipers can be spotted trying to interfere. Or perhaps enemies have set up a blockade. And there’s a limited time/health to make sure the people you’re escorting don’t get hurt. Freelance project: Maybe you could even get an email from some kind of company, or perhaps an individual who isn’t very techy. You could either do small science minigames to earn a bit of money, or help out perhaps an elderly person whose TV doesn’t work. I can imagine some of these ‘outside the mask’ events could be a bit tedious if you just want to swing around. Maybe you could disable these, if you want. But think it could be fun to play as Peter or Miles for a bit. Perhaps you could help someone out for his/her high school project. Power outage: A city block is without power. You could solve this slightly differently depending on which Spider-Man you’re playing as. Miles would have a bit of an advantage here, of course. Eavesdropping: I’m not sure how Spider-Manny this would be, but perhaps you could eavesdrop on bad guys and shady characters. Perhaps you could get asked to eavesdrop by a civilian who needs concrete evidence in a court case (one in which Spider-Man would feel it’s morally right to provide evidence for [helping out the little people]). I could imagine Miles’ invisibility to be useful here. Heist: Basically a bigger scale of this bank robbery/ATM idea of yours. Perhaps the enemies, in bigger numbers, would fight you, but once a lot of money has been retrieved and/or a lot of goons have been taken down, they’d flee with what they have. You could have multiple trucks/cars to chase. Maybe, if the other Spidey isn’t there, you could ask for his help, either in combat, or to have him blocking off an escape route or contesting a chokepoint. It would be cool to give your companion instructions and make decisions together. An example could be: Who’s going to make sure the civilians are okay and who’s going to start the chase? And then you could choose who does what. Perhaps it could be great to have strategic switching of the characters enabled in big crimes. Like in this crime. Reported terrorism: This could perhaps range from false alarm to enemies having placed down a explosives on many buildings. Perhaps these are spread out across the city. One Spider-Man could perhaps help shut the operation down in one place, as the other Spider-Man shuts down another explosive. And you could switch between the two, depending on who’s closer to the objective, or something. Burglary: A new form of small crime where a scared citizen is hiding at home and sends you his/her address. You need to get there as soon as possible and stop the (single) burglar(s) inside of the house. If you’re too slow, this might end up becoming a car chase, or an investigation that would lead to the perpetrator. The crime in this game only has theoretical variety. Of the 18 crimes, most of them are just beating up the enemy. Two are car chases with slightly different mechanics. There’s not much of a gameplay difference between assault and burglary. You just best up regular enemies. Some with hunter cargo or stakeouts, arson or branding attack, abduction or bus assault (you get the idea). They’re different in theory, but they’re really not different in actuality. Apart from putting out fires or destroying the VTOL or opening the bus after the crime has ended. They’re small differences that only make up about 10 seconds of the total crime, tops.
In the defense of Insomniac: Brian Intahar has said in interviews and spoiler casts that they wanted to add enough in the game without it feeling bloated or repetitive. I'm guessing the majority of people watching these videos don't understand game development what exactly goes into it . We don't know how many people were on the open world team. They had to flesh out a story with two Spider-Men.. yeah, there was some pacing issues with the third act I feel, but I also feel like the quality of this game had a lot to do with PlayStation rushing them to get to that Christmas deadline. But I'm seeing some good suggestions in the comment section for crimes and hopefully they will watch these videos and understand better what the community needs
i think they should add a new character, imagine beating up enemies as daredevil or doctor strange edit: i think ghost rider would be cool as well, being able to drive around new york and beat up criminals would be awesome
There should be multiple crimes happening at once and multiple activities. If a child loses something and there's a bank robbery happening at the same time you gotta decide what's more important. Also I want to have crime alerts across the city so I have to swing to them
Some smaller crimes like getting a kids balloon back or seeing some kids commit a crime and straying them away from that or saving a cat from a tree or helping an older person cross the street woulda really thought that neighborhood friendly spiderman into the game and then even bigger crimes like armed bank robbery’s where you have to round up the criminals save the hostages and go after the trucks driving off with the stolen money stop them and then let the police retrieve the money from the trucks and bring it back to the bank
If they aren’t giving us carnage and chameleon dlcs, then this game will forever live in the shadow of the first one. It would seriously be sad to see how little they cared about a game that should’ve received their absolute full attention and care.. like the first game lol. I think a few more crimes related to fires through the carnage dlc, or tracking crime bosses working under chameleon, or hell saving a bloody cat in a tree dude I don’t care. If they leave it as is then it is hardly a 60$ game
when doing the list of the crimes up-ing the speed of the shrinking would make it easier to watch and not a waste of time, especially since just knowing its 18 total crimes is enough info for the average viewer. adding to much gunk makes it feel boring and un-skipible cutscene like.
Here a idea there could be a rare chance a a group like the demons or Fisk guys even sable could break out and start doing shootouts with the cops, rob armored trucks, or fight other groups, have you find a hideout, and maybe find a boss like find task master spying on you
The endgame needs more challenge in my opinion. for example maybe rhino will reutern with some other criminals or you have been informed that an abonded building is being used as a hiding place for a mafia and you have to stealthly take everyone out?
i was kinda hoping that there would maybe be like rare crimes with lesser known spider-man villains. imagine big wheel being a very hard car chase, the enforcers mugging someone and you gotta find a way to take out a trio that actually knows how to co-ordinate. i also would have liked to have seen maybe some of the less violent more bank robby criminals like Shocker being random crimes but they went and decided that every spider-man had to die for some reason
Bro you asking too much from them, they made such a big city and literally gave us 4 factions to fight throughout entire city and last one with symbiotes. Imagine souls games where you have to fight same 4-5 enemy factions over and over again till the end💀

In the next spider man, I think there should be an honor system, kinda like RDR2 where if you run away from crimes or the small accidents, you lose honor, and vice versa.
Adding a time limit before the other Spider-Man shows up first is a good idea, the game Dying Light had a system where your enemies would arrive at loot drops if you don't get there fast enough, and how long you take determines how much is left to take.
Bro I’m NOT paying 70$ for a video game thinking "Hmm, coding is hard, so I expect the triple AAA game I’m buying to be barebones…Because coding is HARD" Do you even hear yourself?
They should have never removed the ability (maybe they didn't and I'm just not looking hard enough) to replay crimes using the FNSM app. There already aren't enough options to test out your new abilities and I don't want to wait for the random chance that I actually get to fight normal criminals. Another unrelated thing is that I wish was added is a stealth suit tech category. Just bring back some basic stealth suit mods and throw Ghost Strike in Miles' skill tree.
This is why video games take decades to make because people don’t appreciate the games that are concise and packed with character. There is a ton of things to do in Spider-Man 2. Personally, games that are 200+ hrs are truly repetitive. SM2 is around 21 hrs to beat disregarding most side content. I don’t know about you but I’m an adult that has a job and at one point recently was in college. I would rather play SM2 knowing I will beat it and enjoy it. Just my two cents.
Yeah I love this game but it’s definitely rushed. I’m not blaming insomniac tho it’s definitely Sonys fault I mean most suits even have weird buggy lenses, that bend unnaturally, they don’t even move when doing finishers anymore, small details like that is what I miss
